I'm routing for Price, it's clearly his last shot. He's yet to beat a clear top thirty hw and Hammer is arguably top 15. I don't think he can do it though. Sad, if he loses, he might just go down as the biggest hype job in hw history. Tons of people were saying he'd beat Fury and take Wlad's place back in 12. And to never get a top 30 win? Can anyone else recall such an inverse relationship to hype and success in hws before? Audley is the only one I can think of remotely close, but Williams and a couple others were top 30 back when he beat them. Anyway, I hope he can avoid the ignominy and get himself the cash out fight that would probably bring.

While I agree with this for the most part, I would add that the problem isn't fundamentally a lack of ability to fight off the back foot, more just that Price's ring generalship is awful now. Really poor. Even against lower-tier opponents such as Pejsar, you can see that Pejsar is dictating the way the fight is being fought more often than Price was. I think the reason for this is twofold:
1 - Price has been told time and time again by all observers that his strength is in his jab and maintaining distance. So he sticks it out there, and seems determined to keep the opponent outside of his range - to the degree that if they try moving in, or slipping, or jabbing with him, then Price is immediately pushed back as he tries to maintain distance. To an aggressive fighter this gives them confidence and they can effectively manouver him into the ropes and negate his best attributes.

2 - Since the KO losses, he is understandably reluctant to let his opponent engage him - so if ever they do get inside he is always looking to either hold or get the hell out of there. Which ironically leads to him being easier to clip. He also uses his jab to measure his opponent, leaving it out there to make sure they are at a safe distance - which is a terrible idea for someone who is afraid of getting his chin-checked.

Overall, for a massive, powerful man he is SO easy to bully - even for smaller heavyweights. I think that people drilling that safety-first, behind the jab Klitschko approach has done him something of a dis-service as it has made him passive and skittish in the ring - which is terrible for someone who is not known for being durable. While the Klitschko approach SHOULD work for him in theory, he is evidently no Wlad. I actually think when he is confident and goes after his opponent he still looks very promising.

Just wanna say I am a Price fan, and would love to see him part of the interesting landscape at Heavyweight.

Price will certainly go up a lot in my estimation if he does this. Risky fight, Hammer is not THAT known and I personally can't see how Price is the favourite coming into this. All the best to him, if he doesn't win this then it will potentially cost him.

As I said in my post....

It's his horrendous lower body coordination.

Just watch his legs, how stiff they are even when he's pressing the action.

It's like watching that 6'6" 6th grader trying to dribble the ball outta the lane when he pulls it down off the rim.

For sure though his best chance at becoming even slightly relevant would be to throw defense to the wind and go into every fight looking to rip his opponent's head off they shoulders as soon as the bell rings.

Pretty certain that his name value will keep him around for potential prospects and to rescue undercards as he is doing for CEJ on this ITV PPV.

Win or lose v Hammer, FWank would love to have him in with DelBoy, and he'd make a great comeback fight for either Tyson after the layoff, or even Hughie if he should lose to Parker.

Like Audley......plenty of money to be made for Pricey.

Price looks mentally destroyed to me. Tentative even against no hopers in this last couple fights. Big risk and from what I have seen of Hammer, he has a little bit of defense and looks pretty solid. I don't know how Price even has fans at this point but then Audley Harrison kept getting chances.

Price is huge now i think he went from 17+ stone to 19+ stone, might help his punch resistance a bit?

As much as I would love Hammer to win this one I dont think he can. He has decent defense and a pretty good chin, and has gained some really valuable experience from past fights, that not alot of HWS have, but IMO he doesnt do good against giants. I never saw Price fight live, just some clips here and there, but how bad is he?
I think they picked Hammer because they know they gonna win

Also that odds seem like a bait to me, there are a lot of people who would pick against Price

    Just my two cents

Hammer will have this. The last fight Price had...there was one moment...it said it all for me. Perkovic came forward and feinted, Price threw his head back and nearly tripped over getting away. He didn't want to engage even when he was in the pocket.

He is scared. That confidence can only come back IF he gets a KO. BUT the previous sentence will play out again.
