Will be interesting to see what condition he comes in. He seemed to drop a bit of conditioning for a while post-kickboxing then lately has looked to be in good shape again.
Moneys on Hammer here... But this is it for Price. If he loses his career is over... But winning would be the boxing equivalent of hitting the lottery, almost certainly lines up a big cash out fight. Always liked Price... Will be rooting for him here but won't get my hopes up, this probably won't end well for the guy.
Hammer is not a hard puncher but he needs to land only one I guess. I would enjoy Price winning too but can't see it happen.
So 2016 was a seriously disappointing year for the heavyweight division! The rise of Joseph Parker was the big story of the year, but some of his shine was rubbed off given how he struggled against the talented but obese Ruiz Jr. It doesn't seem likely that Parker will still be a champ at the end of 2017. Joshua is finally a champ but he'll need to step up in 2017 to solidify his status. 2017 could be a great year but alot is gonna hinge on Joshua-Klitshko and similar matchups actually happening. I would also love to see Povetkin take on a real test such as Parker or Pulev or Ortiz.
The odds are gonna favor Hammer given that he managed to upset Teper. Yet if Price can replicate Tyson Fury tactics it could be an easy fight for him though. Obviously Price can't mimic Fury's full bag of tricks but he can play it smart and keep that distance.
Price is too uncoordinated and stiff to keep a small come forward guy like Hammer off him. If he's going to win here he has to land that right hand and shut Hammers lights out. The longer the fight goes the more his chances diminish. If this goes past rounds 3-4 there's like a 95% chance Hammer wins. Prices stamina is atrocious.
