Tunney was a solid, ripped 190 pound hwt master boxer from the twenties.

Take Wlad and put him in that time he would be a tall and lanky hwt.

Take Tunney and put him in today's world of performance enhancement drugs and you would have a 220 pound monster with boxing skills like no other.

Since two of Wlad's losses were stamina related ( His stamina became excellent once he got off the weights ) Wlad might be better off in decades past, and IMO he's a life taker with those 6-8 0z gloves they used.

 

I know that wasn't peak Ali, but he still had some good wins ahead of him against Norton (not really), Shavers (sort of), and he also won the title again after that against Spinks after losing to him in their first match. Ali was 34 against Young. Walcott was about 37 when he almost beat Marciano.

Possibly Ali's worst night was that night vs Young. Ali was overweight and totally undertrained vs the best Young that night. Even the worst Ali was able to score two knockdowns as Young tried fleeing the ring. Ali's performance that night in no way shape or form reveals how he would fare vs Walcott. Prime Ali outspeeds and stops Joe within 9 rounds.
