Regarding Wlad. If he were in the 20's he would be 6'7, 220 pounds....tall and lanky and no where near as formidable. All that muscularity would be history. No juice, much less impressive physically. Tunney juiced up in 2017 would be a monster.
That wasn't peak Ali...by any stretch. But I see your point of Young's style of forcing Ali to be the aggressor as being very problematic for him...it showed.
Sorry, no point. My post was 100% tongue in cheek which BC was picking up on. Well, the point was what a ludicrous comment it was. Woeful version of Ali, especially one having to deal with a cutie. Pre exile Ali's speed and brilliance would have seen him past Young comfortably.
I think he'd maybe do better than people think against a lot of heavyweights. Not many have good angular movement, and it's not easy to deal with.
On film Tunney looks wonderful & I think he would beat the Sharkeys Schmelings etc. but his resume as Heavyweight is light. I would have to rate Charles higher at Heavyweight. Had Tunney beat Schmeling,Sharkey etc. before retiring he would have been established in the top 10-15
