They are similar in many ways. Height, weight, power, strength, speed etc. The only big difference is chin (McCall had far better chin surely). I think the draw or close decision either way seems very likely.
McCall by late rounds ko. Rahmann gases and McCall takes him out. Rahmann wouldn't hurt him but would probably be ahead at the time of the stoppage.
I'll take Rahman. He was a better boxer, especially when in top form. He obviously might get knocked out though.
Mccall has a chin of steel, never stopped by anyone. The fact he's choosen as 80's Mike sparring partner proof how durable he is. He would have beaten Bruno too and retain his title if he didnt stays idle for most of the fights until the last 2 rounds. He shrugged off Lewis punches even in rematch, he put his hands down , Lewis landed some clean shots, it didnt bother him. Rachman was already bruises and swollen by 3rd round against Lewis. I'd say Mccall to beat Rachman by late stoppage.
McCall stoppage by trading with Rahman and using his chin as his first line of defense. Rahman could win a decision if he fought smart and with some luck.
Would definitely go in to late round s. Would be a mauling physical fight with both men getting good solid punch s in. But round about the tenth rahman tires and mccall breaks through and put s him down. He ain't getting up. Rahman was ahead on the cards
It is funny how people love to act like McCall couldn't be stopped. Every fighter can be stopped. Some people are just more durable. McCall sparred Tyson with headgear and wasn't knocked out. Who cares. You act like in the ring McCall was known to get hit flush over and over again. Anyway Rahman wasn't that good. A slow handed guy with limited boxing skills but he could TKO McCall if he lands the right shots. If Rahman is in shape he would win a decision. McCall wasn't that good either. His whole career is basically him struggling with a washed up Larry Holmes and getting lucky against weak chin Lewis.
Whoever turns up the most motivated and mentally put together on the night. 2 rather unbalanced characters.
Rahman can't stop McCall if he couldn't stop 42 y.o. Berbick, 41 y.o. Ferguson, Monte Barrett and Oleg Maskaev (2 fights)
Rahman just seemed so, average, to me. He had the power with meat hooks for hands but never had that killer instinct that even Oliver McCall had.
McCall did more than that. He managed to stop Damiani in Damiani's last fight, beat Seldn, Akinwande,, Sinan Samil Sam, and Oquendo in 2010. He's on a shortlist of four decade heavyweights and was never to be taken lightly during that time. He also beat an undefeated fighter who had beaten his son a few years ago.
