They were still in negotiations and Hearn turns his phone off, that is a fact.

The deadline issue is overstated ffs every big fight 9/10 times goes over the initial deadline.

If Brook didn't weasel his way in this wouldn't even be an issue.

The BJS £1 mill offer, which was quite recent actually seemed very good to me. BN teaming up with BT sports to me suggests that it was a very legitimate offer.

I have no idea why the Eubanks didn't consider the offer and I agree that it was poor of them.

The BJS 20% although not legit still proves that people here just want to tear CEJ down for their personal satisfaction, it was very weak.

You say the deadline issue is overstated but in business, they are set for a reason, yes they are scare tactics at times, you're correct but the negotiations were going on for weeks and weeks and the show date was fast approaching.

They were in negotiations for weeks. Eventually there has to be a cut off. Team GGG themselves needed to get something confirmed or they move to someone else.

The interview I saw with Tom Loeffler confirmed team Eubank missed the deadline and it was only then that Brook was offered.

Look at the last IFL interview with Hearn where he reads the email he sent to team Eubank regarding the deadline and there ridiculous demands.

Team Eubank were more concerned with trying to fleece the fans with high ticket prices and trying to get Mcguigan in as a commentator rather than being happy with the great payday and getting the fight that they supposedly were desperate to get.

They only have themselves to blame but I think the reality is they kept putting up more demands as they didn't really want the fight.

Just put Mcguigan on, it's not a deal breaker ffs. Should be a non issue.

Hearn just tells you what you want to hear and what he wants you to hear.

Sr said that Hearn was the guy saying they could increase the ticket prices, but I know you will believe what you want to believe.

I know we all do it at times but GGG fans are typically the worst when it comes to holding opponents to a higher standard and also double standards.

Look at how they laughed at Canelo vs Khan and tried to palm off GGG vs Brook.

Jacobs is a mug for not accepting 25% but GGG is too big for 15mill

CEJ has two weeks to sign a contract but GGG can drag his feet as long as he likes, it's quite pathetic.

I know you will probably try to say if its good enough for Brook why didn't CEJ take it?

Brook had nothing to lose and everything to gain. He was praised like a king for getting battered in 5 rounds and rightfully so, Brook did brilliantly considering he was never going to beat GGG, the size difference was too huge.

Brook now can ride on that loss until a big pay day comes. He doesn't have to fight Spence now, his fans just say he isn't scared of Spence he just fought GGG .

A fight like GGG vs CEJ can take a little longer than two weeks to make, especially when Hearn turns his phone off!!!!

If the negotiations for something are 99% or so done and you know there are only a few little things left Hearn and loeffler would have likely gone a little over that deadline in order to seal the deal, that they didn't would imply they were very far apart and there was no point continuing with the negotiations, whereas brook was willing and it seemingly got done quickly

Since when does the a fighter and his team make demands to a broadcaster on who should be commentating? Sky have there own team and it's absurd to think they would allow that to happen regardless of how small of a matter of your might think it was.

Like I said Hearn reads the email sent to Eubank telling them how tickets prices were a no go and matchroom run the show. Now unless this is a fake email which was never sent which I doubt considering he was prepared to share it to the world I think it's the Eubanks who wanted to crazy high ticket prices.

Why is it that no other fighter seems to have an issue with the PPV model which matchroom/Sky have but the Eubanks decide they want to try and do something different.

The fight was never going to happen. Eubank was all talk.

They had a plan B, that is all.

The deadline was in place to snake Kell in there and was used as a sidescreen.

Brook vs GGG is a sideshow of a fight but I suppose you get to see GGG in the UK.

the deadline was in place because they were dealing with a man who is as reliable and predictable as a drunk girl on her period, and makes perfect sense to keep kell as a backup if that happened

The email was sent by Hearn and obviously sent after the fact it is as clear as day. When he reads us an email sent by Sr making these demands then we can talk!!!!!

Sky has guest commentators all the time and Mcguigan isn't a mug he is more than qualified to commentate. Ffs non issue.

As I said Hearn is telling you what you want to hear so its no wonder you have 110% buy in.

If Hearn said something that you didn't want to hear you would call him out!!!!

We don't know the truth about the negotiations so we can't lay all the blame on one party.

Sky may well have guest commentators or pundits but that's sky's decision. What Eubank was asking for would be like Vladimir demanding Mike Tyson is commentating vs AJ. Pretty damn ridiculous don't you think.

They broadcaster does its own thing and neither a promoter or fighter should start asking t broadcaster to put on who they want.

Tbf Sr said it wasn't a deal breaker, he asked for it but they didn't say the fight will not go ahead without him commentating!

That is just Hearn making excuses, but I still think Mcguigan is a good commentator and it shouldn't have been an issue

I know this is a side issue, but watch the fight again mate. Brook was landing on GGG for fun. He even had a swagger about him as GGG threw wild, frustrated hooks at him, missing loads.

The eye socket injury was so unfortunate. Would have been interesting to see if he could have kept it up for 12 rounds because he would have won.

But the same and even better can be said about Khan vs Canelo and you will probably call me delusional!!

Brook like Khan was never going 12 in those fights. Their initial speed gave them an edge but the size and power was simply too much and GGG did hurt Kell in every round, especially the last round.

GGG did hurt Kell in that last round but bear in mind that Brook's sight was significantly affected. They should have retired him in corner after round 4.

I'm sorry but I disagree about the Khan/Alvarez fight. Khan was dancing around but he barely touched Alvarez and I'm not convinced at all that he was winning every round as he claimed.

I respect both of them for taking them fights. However, Brook came out of it with far more kudos imo.

Just to add, Hagler had power and size over Leonard but Leonard had the skills and speed to get himself out of trouble. I appreciate that folk might say (and rightly so) that Leonard was a far more superior fighter than Brook but I would say that GGG isn't on the same planet as Hagler.

My point is, if you have quality footwork, speed and intelligence, you can go 12 rounds with a bigger opponent and win the fight.
