Young was a career heavyweight. When Fitz met what we would consider a modern heavy in Jeffries, he was outmuscled and stopped.

Yeah, oops. Jimmy Ellis not Jimmy Young.

Fitz was a middleweight who fought in a sort of weird crablike pressure style by Pollack. He evolved into a counter-punching trapsmith and won the heavyweight championship. It's pretty good for all that Fitz won the title below the modern cruiserweight limit.

Marciano was a "chimera" who defied all the laws of physics. He alone can surmount the insurmountable, conquer the unconquerable, defeat the undefeatable.Taking on25lbs would make him faster and give him more stamina,it would also magically cure his tendency to cut.

Fitz was indeed a marvel , Odd in his book makes no mention of Fitz adapting his style as he fought bigger men, but if Adam says he did ,I'm happy to accept it. 206lbs Jeffries walked through the punches of the 167lbs Fitz, couldn't 240lbs present day heavies emulate that feat?

I think Jeffries needed an ATG chin to achieve what he did. He took some hellish punches to do what he did.

I would pick many present day heavies to beat Fitz, yes, but unless i've misunderstood, that was not the question.

If it is, Ellis is a better pick.

no do not look at Foreman v Frazier. There are a hundred factors that determined that result. George landed early and Joe never got going. That never happened when George fought Qawi or scrap iron Johnson. Why was that? For that to be a template for every guy like that all results should be the same against short come forward heavyweights but it is not.

I'd have to look at Ellis' early fights but a seemingly good choice.
Jeffries had an ATG chin imo.

Little difference between the Foreman that fought Frazier and the one that fought Qawi like....

I believe that GGG is definitely faster and more skilled than Povetkin. But I'm not sure I buy that he hits harder. Either Alexander wasn't tagging him with everything he had or this guy is just flat out full of shlt.

There's many variables that dictate the style and gameplan. As you've already said, he didn't change it for Shkor.

He's slow of foot compared to Walcot, Charles and Moore. A lot of people are slow of foot compared to them 3.

I'd say more he's a man who follows the normal laws of physics and is able to add weight without trading too much in terms of skillset.

I don't think adding weight increases his speed and stamina though.

I used examples from both versions of George Foreman. I used Scrap Iron Johnson from his first career but I could also add Levi forte. Ted gullick went early but posed problems too. They all fall short of prime Fraziers talent as did the Joe Frazier George fought.

As well as qawi from his second career I could also throw in Big foot Martin, mark young and bobby Crabtree. Why didn't George steam roll them like he did the erratic Bert Cooper?

I say again, If his best win ever is seen as something he could always duplicate against every short come forward guy, Why didn't he deal with all of his short come forward opponents the same way?

Moore wasn't fast afoot by the time he fought Marciano,he said himself his legs were gone.
