He's a good puncher imo and he hit Lewis flush many times, which Lennox took without going down.
Bottom line, Lewis does not have a glass jaw ,or even a poor one. I made the comment because it's a fact .Mendoza doesn't come into the equation

Why, it's not like tua is some sort of a master boxer, is he?
Lewis outboxed him easily... Lewis is an atg hw, great fighter... But also the worst chin of all atg hw champs

Sorry i don't rate vitali as a puncher... He's an arm puncher with poor leverage, not an explosive puncher like lewis for example

Do you think it feels good to get hit by him?

    Wrong.

He beat every fighter he ever faced, and he fought the best fighters of his era, in one of the hardest punching heavyweight eras ever, the first era of super heavyweights ...

And he was on the floor TWO TIMES.

He wasn't decked by middleweights and light heavys. Stanley Ketchel didn't drop him. Billy Conn didn't stagger him. Archie Moore didn't flatten him. Sonny Banks didn't floor him. Mike Bruce didn't put him down. Jimmy Young didn't flatten him. Kevin Isaac didn't drop him. Leotis Martin didn't knock him unconscious.

He went down two times by highly rated hard punching heavyweights, and he beat both in returns. They dropped him once. They couldn't drop him twice.

Your statement has zero basis in reality.

I think Floyd Patterson's chin was worse than Lennox Lewis's

No. And a few of the men who went the distance didn't do it until Vitali was well north of 37

He was koed twice by single blows and he was not young and inexperienced nor old and gray at the time. I don't say he had a glass jaw....not at all. Just the fact however he was felled, stopped, by single blows twice has to be factored in when rating him all time.

Not true. He was one of the oldest world heavyweight champions in boxing history when he was stopped by Rahman.

Lewis had two of his best performances in his next two bouts in destroying Rahman and then Tyson....,far from old and gray when he lost to Rahman in 2001.

The McCall fight wasn't actually a KO. The fight was stopped while he was on his feet. Oliver was a guy who could crack and Manny Steward worked with him for weeks in the gym to set up that shot by studying films of Lewis's stance and trajectory. Rahman was also a hard puncher and Lewis was 35 years old and clowning around if you watch the film. He deserved to get knocked out there.

He got up, but he was done. He had not recuperated from the knockdown. The ref did the right thing. He probably saved Lewis from a beating and prolonged his career.
