Boxrec says he was a bit over over 160 against Amar Amari and Malik Dziarra, which took place in late 2008 and early 2009.
I think it will be a war, Berchalt is younger and has good power and Vargas is getting old + had several tough fights lately. Vargas deserves to be favourite but that won't stop me picking the upset.
Vargas is a 1/2 favourite in the U.K. I hope the odds go towards Berchelt so I can bet on Vargas. Berchelt has never been past 6, Vargas will drown him in deep waters possibly stop him. I rewatched the Salido vs Vargas and I don't see Berchelt stopping Vargas that dude is tough as nails.
Hmmm, I'll have to rewatch that too and maybe a few others; you are almost convincing me to change to Vargas lol.
I'm very high on Berchelt, and from a technical standpoint I think he's a level or two above Vargas, and power wise he is too, so I think he can take it by either method.
My analysis of Berchelt is he has above average power but not crazy power like his record suggests the kind of guys he knocks out Salido and Vargas would too. He has a good jab, his main weapons are his straight punchers but he needs space to get full power in them, when he gets close he will vary his attack with hooks to the body and head. Him and Vargas are similar actually but if Vargas can survive Salidos inside onslaught all he has to do is keep the fight inside and take over in the second half when Berchelt tires and he can stop him or cruise to a decision.
Same here bro. I would like to see him tested this year to the point where he can't afford to showboat too often
I think he won't be as comfortable in the inside against Vargas whose wars with Muira and Salido will have taught him a lot. Berchelts only chance of winning for me is if he and Vargas box it out from the outside as that's more of his territory. If Vargas keeps the fight inside i think he will make this a routine win.
That's a good fight for sure, but Vargas may be too battle tested at the end of the day, and I see Vargas winning the war of wills as he grinds Berchelt down for a late stoppage.
Been quite busy recently guys and will be for the next two weeks, so pardon me for my inactivity haha

Since when is Miguel Berchelt a technical wiz? I've never heard much of anything about him besides him being a pretty stereotypical Mexican fighter who can punch a bit. I don't see what would make him any more dangerous than Miura.
