    smith has a punchers chance but thats about it, stevenson is the more skilled and experienced and smith won't be able to bully him physically like he did with hopkins. i want stevenson to win just because he is far more likely to beat ward then smith is...

    Trash this one-sided hype fight and make Stevenson Vs Ward for Undisputed World LHW champion.

    Stevenson Vs Ward very likely doubles or triples the PPV numbers of Ward Vs Kovalev. The Kovalev rematch makes zero financial sense, at this time.
    Make the Stevenson - Ward bout, pay Kov decent step-aside money and give the fans what they want to see; Stevenson - Ward for LHW undisputed championship.
    Then the winner versus Kovalev may gain some added momentum, placing the winner's 1st defence fight financially in the black.

    Kovalev isn't gona let go of the immediate rematch, and Ward/Stevenson would be very, very, very hard to negotiate. Smith is an exciting commodity right now and he's better than Stevenson's last 4 title defences. This fight makes all the sense in the world, noone cares about RocNation's finances.

    I hope the best is yet to come from Joe Smith Jr. He's got the power to stop anybody, so hopefully he gets a real good camp and goes full time for this fight. If Fonfara can stand up to Stevenson, Smith should too.

    As the only early believer in Joe, I don't like this fight, I'd rather him face Seanie Monaghan and maybe a few other decent contenders first, I soooooo want to see him decapitate the Pimp, but unlike the Fonfara and even Hopkins match that stylistically favored him, this one.... not so much. Hopefully he's cautious early and tries to survive the early rounds like Fonfara did, and go all out in the middle to late rounds and gets his ass out of there.

    If the match happens...

    I'll nervously have my fingers crossed, but won't get my hopes up.
