    I guess so but Canelo is a better fighter... if Chavez comes in at 170 then yes Canelo will really have to work for it lol

    Chavez needs to:

    1) Lose the weight sensibly
    2) Make sure his cardio is good
    3) Attack Canelo to the body

    I think that Junior will be able to take Canelo's power no problem, and that he needs to avoid missing and getting countered. Go to the body early, and then later on Canelo will slow and Chavez' chin and size will count heavily. Alvarez will not handle being on the other side of the weight equation well. Late in the fight Jr can turn it into a slugfest and Canelo will come out worse. :smash2:

    IF Chavez comes 100.... and if that 100 is as good as it was back when he fought Lee and Martinez, and IF he can take Canelos power ok (not a given, and a lot of IFs) theres a part of me that thinks this could resemble, somewhat, loosely, a Cotto vs Margarito type fight. Not so much in outcome, but just in the clash of styles and dimensions. With Canelos boxing ability, power, speed, and counterpunching, being met head on with Chavez's size, lean forward style, high activity, high durability, .... could make for a high drama type fight. People forget that before the Margarito fight, Cotto was still seen as somewhat of a destroyer.

    Like I said, a lot of ifs. One would think JR wont be ready for Canelos speed and power though, could (and probably will) make all the difference, at this stage of Jrs career.

    I know I'm going to get a lot of beef for this but, am I the only one who's not excited about this fight and that comparing it to a Morales/Barrera type fight is rude? Maybe it's the weird cw, maybe it's my disdain for Canelo, but it just doesn't seem like "2 great Mexican warriors" going head to head to me...

    Maybe I'll change once I he fight gets closer...

    I feel exactly the same. This is a pure money grab fight. Embarrassing to compare this to great mexican fights.

    Heard something today that Canelo is responsible for 90% of GB revenue! He wont be fighting a real test for a good few years!
