The SMW division is not what it was a few years ago a prime Froch, Ward or Kessler in their prime would have been a level above any SMW in the world right now. Jack pipped DeGale, DeGale showed us boxing IQ for the professional version of boxing is not up there with the guys I just mentioned, had speed but doesn't use it correctly.

Looking forward to watching how Jack does at light heavyweight against the likes of Kovalev, Ward, Joe Smith, Fonfara, Stevenson etc.

He's massively underrated.

 

Degale was impressive.. you guys don't know nothing about the barx..

 

Impressive at taking heavy shots all night. Respect for that.

 

And the ones he didn't take? Invisible as the thin air itself?

Real good close fight, by no means a "robbery"... credit to both fighters.

Them stats are quite reflective of how Jack didn't really take his foot off the pedal.

 

Degale.. Hamed those types of fighters throw a length punch that's sometimes scored as a hook.. or ones that aren't intended as a punch for defence etc.. if you extend your arm.. sometimes it doesn't register on the stats.


Just the style of fighting..

 

To me those punch stats are off.. not saying Degale threw more but it was definitely a bit tighter than that..

 

Americans support their boy.. Olympians supporting theirs.. something think supporting the other national makes world or something..

 

I m not sure i agree with a lot on here. But that was a robbery. Clear win for jack. Outlanded him in every round but two. Landed the much cleaner harder shots all night.

At the end of the day Its professional boxing. Not amatuer. Slapping like degale will win you fights if your not taking much back but when your getting returned by the much harder shots in pretty much every round you cant win or draw the fight.

A lot of degales shots are not much more than touching shots as well imo.

What i will say tho is degale deserves a lot of credit for last night and his career of late...nothing wrong with his heart thats for sure. Good fight from both men. Always fancied jack in the fight.

Not seen much of smith but what i have seen i think hes overrated on this board. Groves and degale both beat him.

Would love to see the groves v degale rematch now. Fancy groves...always have even when he was struggling and degale was doing well. But you can never exactly put your mortgage on him.
