What division do we think Brook should be fighting at in the future? I know he's a big WW & would proably be more comfortable at 154 but that's such an unattractive division, not because it's weak as there are plenty of sharks in that weight class but hardly any of them would be considered big fights as they are not well known. At 147 there are huge fights to be made such as Khan, Pacquiao, Garcia, Thurman. I think Brook should take care of the American hype job in Spence then look to set up a massive fight against Khan, Pacquiao or Garcia Thurman winner.
I'd to see him take out the man with weak DNA Amir Khan.. absolutely easiest night of Brooks life and a huge payday.. no wonder Brook is so desperate for it. But Khan don't want it so it's unlikely to happen. Brook, Spence, Pacqauio are the best 3 in the 147 division any of them two against each other would be nice.
I think he should fight at 147, so much potential for a few great fights over the next couple of years...
Got to be 147. Theres a reason guys boil themselves down as far as they can nowadays regardless of talent. That seven pounds makes a big difference. Brooks himself says he can still make it comfortably enough. People arent taking into account the effect the heavier guys punches have on you being the naturally smaller man. Think eddies trying a fast one here. Running scared of spence. He knows theres no massive money in that fight. Its a risky one. Hes thinking at least if we put brook in with someone he might lose to...everyone gets paid well. Canelo will beat brook btw. Will wear him down. Far too big for brook.
I don't think he is. There are bigger fights at 147 than 154lbs. Hearn is saying he should move up to avoid Spence as there is no money in the fight but if that's the case you tell me who Hearn would want to put him in with at 154lbs instead? What money fight is there? Canelo but that wouldn't be happening anytime soon. Hearn may want him to move to 154 but it certainly isn't to avoid Spence considering there are no real big money fights at 154lbs right now: 1. Canelo Alvarez (48-1-1) 2. Jermall Charlo (25-0) 3. Erislandy Lara (23-2-2) 4. Demetrius Andrade (23-0) 5. Jermell Charlo (28-0) 6. Austin Trout (30-3) 7. Vanes Martirosyan (36-3-1) 8. Julian Williams (22-1-1) 9. Charles Hatley (26-1-1) 10. Liam Smith (23-1-1)
Wheres cotto hiding nowadays. He ll go for canelo. Cotto. Or liam smith. Probably be smith v brook next. They ll make out smiths a world beater that gave canelo a tough fight. Will sell well. Then from there he ll go for the canelo/cotto fight. If khan falls through that is. He cant be saying they re struggling at 147 for spence but will fight khan otherwise if hearns not running from him. They should just take the spence fight if khan falls through.
Not a chance it will be Smith? Brook wont fight him for £600k They would love Cotto but his fighting Kirkland and I wouldn't be surprised after that he gets a Canelo rematch. I agree he should fight Spence but can see why they would fight Khan at 147lbs considering its the biggest payday out there. If Brook fights Spence he has to stay at 147lbs. There is no point fighting spence if the plan is to jump to 154lbs.
I think he should stay at 147. Don't worry about Spence. He's just waiting to see if Brook vacates. If he doesn't Spence won't take the fight. So he'll have to take care of the next in line. That is currently Horn but he has Pacquiao so he's out. Then it's Berto but looks like he'll be fighting Porter, then Skeete which wouldn't be an issue for Brook. Then he has the Khan fight over the summer, then see if he can get Pacquiao or the Thurman-Garcia winner. If he moves to 154 now, I don't think there will be any big names up for facing him.
I think thats spot on. I dont think spence will take it. If he does its what brooks been wanting ever since the porter fight. Its time to go out and prove to everyone he is the real deal. If he cant make the weight and perform nowadays at the weight thats fair enough but dont then talk about khan and pacman fights. I think he can make it comfortably. Still think hearns eyeing smith on ppv with a stacked card as a "first fight at the weight fight" then cotto or canelo. Its allright chasing money but lets get some good legacy wins first kells in danger of leaving the sport with an absolutely bang average cv. Best wins being...a win against porter that could have went either way frankie gavin and carson jones. I dont think he beats either cotto or canelo. They ll wear him down. Got to be khan next failing that spence. If he doesnt take it any one of the top names at 147. At the end of the day if you cant afford to bring the guys across that they ve been trying to get over the last few years...they ll have the same struggle getting the other names in the top ten at 54 across also.
