How much more expensive are GGG vs Jacobs tickets compared with GGG vs Lemieux?

    I hear the GGG vs Jacobs tickets range from $100-$1000? and that is considerably more expensive than GGG tickets have ever been is that true?

    Now tell me why CEJ vs GGG couldn't have lifted their prices?????

    Please discuss

    edit: GGG vs Lemieux were $50-$500, so they have doubled

    Raising the ticket prices was always a pretty bs issue IMO

    Tickets at the 02 aren't cheap for Matchroom fights and English wanted to charge tout prices as face value. **** that tweed jacket wearing price gouger.

    Eddie tried all the sneaky tricks in the book to put the blame on the Eubanks and it worked
    It was always going to work though because the haters are just waiting for any thing negative about them.

    If anyone was trying to be sneaky it was English. The deal Eddie has with stub hub is a disgrace but Old Man Eubank rather than rail against that just wanted to rip off the fans himself whilst muttering some bollocks about 'the first dollar dropping to the fighter'.

    The fact is no sporting fans get treated worse than boxing fans. They seldom get the matches they want - unlike literally any other sport - and usually have to pay way over the odds to watch them.

    I don't like it either, but it is what it is

    If we want to see the fights we have to pay for them and unlike other sports where they can just add more dates to the Calendar to increase revenue, in boxing they have to lift prices.

    If Chris Eubank said 'Look, the face value is going up 10% but anyone who wants to by a ticket will be able to get it on general sale rather than at a ridiculous price because they've been sold to stub hub' then great, he's putting more money in his pocket whilst helping make boxing more affordable for fans. He didn't do that. He just wanted to charge tour prices himself.

    I think that would have been a good idea, but even then I think the haters would have spun it as the Eubanks being greedy.

    With the GGG vs Jacobs fight I don't see that many complaints. most are just happy to see the fight.

    The Lemieux tickets seem to have been more competively priced but can't be compared with what CES wanted to charge. As I say he wanted to tout the tickets himself and he never gave us the chance to be on his side because he was too busy trying to stitch up the fans for his own gain.

    Tbh you brits have it good really, cheaper ppv and probably cheaper tickets.

    In NZ, duco are far more creative ripping off the public, we have to pay more for total bum fights than you do for very decent cards and when there's a decent card you can add 20-40%

    With some of Joe Parkers fights they sell most tickets as packages to the corporates and they are table seating which is very expensive.

    They actually didn't release any tickets to the general public in the Takam fight they put them on an auctioning website so everyone bid against each other and raised the price which they said was meant to negate scalpers but just lined their pockets!

    Mother****ers. See it's that type of BS we should be looking to avoid. **** the scalpers but not because the promoters could be doing it themselves. These POS need boycotting/giving a good slap/become socially ostracised for being scumbags.

    Are you going Kev and if so do you think the prices are fair or do you feel a bit ripped off but it's something you have to go to?

    Personally I don't see the big deal?

    I know Dan Rafael is the source for these ticket prices, but he's not accurate. I was at the Lemieux fight and I will be at the Jacobs fight. A ringside ticket at MSG for GGG-Lemieux for $500? No. That's a Barclays Center price. Not an MSG price.

    He says ringside for this fight is $1,000. I saw ringside tickets selling on the MSG site for this fight for over $5,000. There are still many unsold tickets for over $1,000 if you go and look.
