I'm liking the retired, thoughtful Tyson more than the version that was boxing.

If you really distill his article to it's essence, he's saying that a hard life makes hard men, and the fire in the belly is what makes them succeed. So true.

Mike Tyson smis a guy that learned things the hard way. He made every mistake possible but he survived and used it as a learning experience. For one he learned to milk his name and his story for what it's worth.

Tyson is an idiot. If you think the guy is smart you are probably not very sharp yourself and can't tell what a dumb guy trying to sound smart sounds like.

;) Tyson, in his prime was unbeatable and was a great boxer.

The rest of his "character" not so much.

What's the point of saying that any athlete, especially a boxer, is unbeatable? It's simply not true. What's the point of propping any fighter up to such mythical levels anyway?

So what's your point? Nothing you've posted has anything to do with the article! Most if not all ESB members are aware of Tyson's troubles and tribulations of the past. Oh, I get it, you're one of those guys!!!

Another reason Eastern European fighters have got so good is their access to Western Coaches. Emanuel
Steward changed Klitschko from a aggressive puncher to a defensively oriented boxer . John David
Jackson who was a defensive fighter improved Kovalev defense who primary style was a aggressive puncher
before JD. Albert Sanchez changed Golovkin from a cautious boxer puncher into a Mexican style
aggressive puncher. Sure they had great technical coaches in their homeland but the western coaches
turned them from raw uncut gems into diamonds.
