The rentabum looked quite good on the heavy bag clip I saw, might have more of a pulse than Arreola. The basic truth about Wilder remains that he can be ko'd and if he does his arm again, and the polski dude is not out on his feet, who knows.
I would usually agree but as a Wilder fan it is hard to understand what his management is doing. I mean he is 31 now. It doesn't make sense to not be going for the big fights right now. This made sense two years ago but lets get the show on the road.
Pretty sure DW is coming off back to back surgeries on his right hand and wants to test it out. After this tune-up and tool check he'll be taking on Parker, I believe that's a great fight but ends with a highlight reel KO victory for DW. Then the Aj DW collision course is back on track. How can we argue about Aj vs DW 2018 ?
Lol! Don't put Wilders name in the same sentence as Marciano. And shall I go into some of the names Rocky blasted out?? And they weren't over the hill like certain idiots on here like to claim. Were they prime? Not quite... but not over the hill.
Half of Wilders resume is comprised of part time fighters? Names please! All of the fighters you mentioned that fought RM were past prime! You cannot refute that! Half of Wilders resume comprises of part time fighters? Names please! So if Wilder had fought a guy that had been fighting professional for 20 years and was 39 years old what would you say? That's what Moore brought into the ring when RM fought him. If wilder was to fight a guy that was 33 years old and had been fighting professional for 14 years, what would you say? That's what Ezzard Charles brought into the ring when RM fought him. If Wilder fought another 39 year old fighter that had been fighting professional for 23 years, what would you say? That's what Walcot brought into the ring when RM fought him. If Wilder fought a guy that had been fighting professional for 17 years and was 37 years old what would you say? That's what Joe Louis brought into the ring when RM fought him. Rocky's 4 best wins came against guys with an average age of 37 and had been fighting an average of 18.5 years. Yet you criticize Wilder and praise Marciano? I'm not trying to justify Wilder's resume in the least! Only trying to question, what seems to be blatant hypocrisy!
How's he going to adequately test his tools out against a weak chinned low skilled gimboid who'll go down from the first real punch he throws? Sounds like he's just looking for another quick knockout to me.
It's poor, very poor, even Wilder fans can't really defend him now. Sad really, he could be in some very good fights, win, lose or draw he'd be gaining far more respect and maybe even more fans.
Deontay should have a few more tune up fights until his hand his healed. Can't have the champ rushing back into action, without being 100 percent.
I agree. There are lots of things that Wilder has going for him (and a few things that may well see him get strached) but at his age and point in his career, it's time to step it up. Even Bowe eventually fought his Holyfield and Golota.
