So you would give Wilder Credit For fighting guys like Walcot, Charles, Moore and Louis?

Now you have Wilder fighting dead fighters from the grave?!

Wilder, 5 voluntary title defenses in a row, he should be stripped of the paper title.................

I wouldn't be surprised if one of those was Wilder's next voluntary.

Pretty much my entire thoughts on the matter. Why is this even a title defence if it's a tune up? And what does Wilder hope to test out against such a terrible and fragile opponent? Either he blows him out in one or two rounds and gets a grand total of about five minutes work in or he has to artificially carry him and learns nothing useful in the process. The whole fight is completely indefensible from whatever angle you look at it.

 You believe that? Well, I have my doubts but I sure hope you are right. Undertakers are getting mugged left and right these days; a stop has to be put to this!

If Wilder was a 5'10" 178-188 pound fighter like Marciano in the early 50s, sure he would get the same credit as the Rock for beating these Hall of Fame fighters.

The question is what can Wilder do in his own time to match this run. Marciano cleaned out youthful rivals in Layne and Lastarza, defeated the old guard former Champion in Louis, claimed the World Title from reigning Champion Walcott and defended it 5 out of 6 times against the leading contender.

Marciano's Arreola, Liakkhovik, and Stiverne wins were guys like Lee Savold, Phil Muscato, and Beshore. So we know Wilder can beat former contender types.

I would like to see Wilder defeat Wlad, Povetkin, Anthony Joshua, Pulev, Luis Ortiz, and Parker. Most of these guys are on average older than Rocky's Hall of Fame wins, but Wilder would get huge credit for such a run because they are the top guys and his main rivals.

Fair post. I think Povetkin beats Wilder silly, assuming he can beat a ped test first. :drink:

I like Wilder and would back him to beat the likes of AJ & Parker, I also think he would have beaten Povetkin so it is getting frustrating seeing him take fights like this.

We all just have to accept the fact that wilder is the best clean HW in the world.

    It's irrefutable.

I agree! Wilder needs to step it up. it's time! Just curious on how people would react if he fought guys the ages of the fighters we mentioned. Unfortunately for Wilder there isn't any real ATG's in the division as of yet. You Got Klit but, he isn't looking to good as of late and who knows how things will turn out against Joshua. Joshua has potential of being among the greats. Fury is decent and possibly a future Hall of famer if he can get his stuff together. But are these guys on the same level as Marciano, Walcot, Moore, Louis and Charles? Only time will tell.
