It will indeed be interesting to see how Beterbiev does in comparison to Ward last year.

OK, I hear Barrera has defected from Big Bear training.
Does anyone know who his new trainer is?

While I back Beterbiev to win this, Barrera's lateral movement may set some puzzles to solve before the KO comes. Artur is a straight lines fighter so it might take him a while to slow down his prey and get him in front of his punches. That said, I think he'll manage this by the middle rounds. This fight has a TKO8 kinda feel to it.

Barrera really made a big error joining Sanchez and trying to be a big puncher. He can't win that kind of fight against Beterbiev who is one-dimensional, but a huge puncher.
Berrera needs to pull out those classic Cuban style Rigo and Lara sweet science skills. If he does that, he can beat Beterbiev easily. Too bad, I think Berrera fell asleep in those classes.

Good fight. But why is Barrera considered a great opponent for Beterbiev and a tune up for others?

Most of his wins were over Argentine cab drivers, the only half way decent fighters he faced the matches went the distance. And the match didn't last long enough to see how well Beterbiev could take his power did it?

    Two reasons:

    1. In between Barrera had a big win over Shabranssky, which makes him a legit contender at LHW. Also, his stock didn't drop from the decision loss to Ward, it wasn't a shutout or a schooling.

    2. He will be Beterbiev's best opponent.
