This is not a 'I hate Deontay Wilder' thread. It's just a look at how we think the WBC titlist would of got on in the 90s. Who do we think he would of beaten? Who do we think would beat him?

I'll start with those in which I'd pick Wilder to win.

    He beats:

    Morrison
    Bentt
    Hide
    Akinwande
    Francis
    Seldon
    Botha
    Ruiz
    Mercer
    Gavern
    McCline
    Berbick

    He loses to:

    Lewis
    Holyfield
    Bowe
    Tyson
    Tua
    Ike

Fights I struggle to pick are:

    Ruddock
    Rahman
    Golota
    McCall

Anyone disagree or want to add any other names?

Pick 'em with Morrison and Ruddock, loses to Golota and Mercer, agree with the rest. That is, assuming each guy at their best in match ups.

He would probably go undefeated, he just wouldn't fight anyone.

He would grab one of the many vacated titles and pile on defenses against Botha, Mathis Jr, Bean, Seldon, Cooper, Coetzer, and Savarese. Maybe he could convince an old Bonecrusher, Dokes, or Frank Bruno to take a beating for a solid payday. His fanboys would claim Holyfield and Lewis are ducking him. Same ****, different decade.

I mean look how Bowe handled business in the 90s, outside of Holyfield he managed to avoid every major threat the decade had to offer. Golota was supposed to be a push over and could have been if Bowe took care of his body.

How about a young Briggs and an old Foreman??
I pick Foreman to catch him, Wilder is too open and often too brave.

Not sure about Briggs.. always thought he was way overrated. But George Foreman would no doubt catch Wilder and probably before the 5th round too

I don't know Alex Stewart beat the **** out of Foreman.

I think Wilder probably beats Briggs.

Wilder would have problems with Lewis, Tyson, Bowe, and Holyfield....but he could find ways around fighting them. If he ends up facing any of them it would be Holyfield, who would be deemed the lowest risk because of his size, not too threatening power, and sporadic health concerns.

If he waited longer, he could see vulnerable fighters in Moorer and Old Foreman claim the lineal title. And in the mid 90s, you had several weak belt holders. Say, Wilder signs with King and he gets fed Seldon for a strap. King keeps Wilder safe and let him milk defenses over McCall, old Tucker..**** like that. He could end up feeding Wilder to Tyson...or not, depending if he could sale Wilder as a belt holder monopoly.

Are you saying a 90's wilder behaves like a current wilder? What gives you that idea lol

More I think about, King would love to get his hands on a guy like Wilder in the 90s. Tyson was a rock star but constantly getting in trouble. King could put Wilder on undercards, let him knock out some washed up names and fringe dudes, keep him on the side lines. Then when a strap becomes available, milk him as a legit Champion and rival to Lewis and Holyfield. Maybe in 2000, King puts together a super fight with an aging Evander.

The thing with Wilder, he's stable and he looks the part, I don't doubt his ability to make highlight reels out of fringe contenders, King could make gold out of that and would be in no hurry to throw him to the lions.

I think he also beats michael Grant, and Axel Schultz. I'll even bet he beats Tua. Michael Moorer might give him some problems, and even a prime Shannon briggs.

Wilder hasn't even fought anyone in this dimension yet let alone an alternative one?
