Khan couldn't cope mentally losing to Brook, it would ruin his life, there is way too much pride on the line and it is a defining fight in British boxing fans eyes, it answers the question who was the number 1 in the U.K. and it is clear Khan doesn't believe he wins.

Khan said he wanted big fights for big money, the difference here is Khan is now being offered more than he got for Canelo and still won't take the fight.

Brook wants the Khan fight and Khan don't. There is no good reason on Khans part for turning the fight down. It would be his biggest payday, it's for a world title and it's a huge PPV event here in the U.K. at this point it's a duck, you can't describe it any other way.

Honestly, I would say Brook did "better" because he went to war with Golovkin and made it fairly close for a while. I rate GGG as a cut above Canelo. Khan looked better than Brook vs Canelo, but then, Canelo isn't as good as Golovkin.

I see where you're coming from, however, because Khan did make Ginger look silly there for a while.

There are a few questions, will Spence Jr and his people want it to go to purse bids?

If they do and lose the purse bid will they be happy with a mandatory %?

It is not all on Brook, Brook hasn't got to go out of his way here, Hearn and Brook can let this run a little bit and force Spence to accept a very modest purse, they owe him nothing and let's remember Brook had to travel for his world title shot so Spence might have to travel for his.

As for Brook in particular, let's make this simple: Yes, he will boil down to 147 to fight Khan = that's his biggest pay day right there and against a fighter he can handle even if he is weight-drained. Spence is likely a tougher test for MUCH less money and that match-up doesn't justify the risk of getting a 154 physique into the WW division aged the wrong side of 30. The fact he looked so comfortable at 160 is clear evidence his body has outgrown 147 but Brook is a prizefighter and is looking to earn as much as he can in the 8-10 fights left in his career. So at 147 = Khan, yes; Spence, no. That's not ducking - it's managing a career - and I just wish people here were a bit smarter in assessing why fights might not take place.

Spence needs to fight a couple of better fighters before I choose to hug his nuts...
