Sullivan Barrera vs Artur Beterbiev march 4

He hasn't fought a viable opponent yet. He's fought bums, cab drivers, and shopworn past it opponents, but no viable, quality legit top 10 guy yet.

So it would appear Beterbiev was right and that Barrera has some gonads and isn't looking to play the ducking game that his management wants him to. Nice. This is what boxing is all about... Two exciting and skilled top 10 knockout artists going at it...

 

So, these guys were all bums... and then what was Barrera fighting?
The one top10 guy he did fight left him severely lacking. And dropped him, despite lack of power.

 

Hasn't been in with a killer yet
Just look what happened to Shabransky and Khytrov and Troyvonosky

 

Shabranskyy hasn't been in with a killer, Khytrov hasn't been in with a killer and Troyan hasn't been in with a killer yet.
Barrera hasn't been in with a killer yet. That would be his next fight.

And why Shabe, Khytrov and Troyan? What do they have in common with Beterbiev... at all? Why aren't LHW's mentioned?

 

At the time that Beterbiev fought them, yes they were bums. In context, Beterbiev's opposition isn't bad for a guy with only eleven pro fights. But you have people in this discussion pulling Cloud or Campillo out of their arses like Cloud and Campillo were in peak form, when the fact of the matter is that, both were done as boxers at the time they faced Beterbiev.

As for Barrera. Outside of Ward and Shabranskyy, he has faced all bums also, but Ward and Shabranskyy are better than anyone on Beterbiev's resume.

 

Campillo & Cloud are not cans, they were past their primes but not cans.

Shabe isn't any better and you know that. Campillo came of a 3 fight win streak and it was an eliminator because he had taken out Williams recently. Ward is better but seriously, Barrera didn't look too shabby in that one.

There's a reason why almost everyone expect a KO victory for Beterbiev, despite Barrera recently upsetting Shabe.

 

This isn't true.

 

Let's not exaggerate in either direction. Barrera will be Beterbiev's best opponent, but Campillo and Cloud are definitely not cans.

 

Shabransky was a ring rated top LHW and got sparked out
Khytrov was a 160 highly touted great amateur with power that got wrecked by a nobody
Let's see how Beterbiev reacts if Barrera hurts him!

Beterbiev knocks dude's down with check hooks and jabs. Barrera is wide with his punches and his D isn't top notch, thus he'll get touched by Beterbiev, and that's trouble.
