Technically it is a unification, but not a world title unification

The IBO is not a "world" title in my eyes. Jesus isn't the sport confusing enough?

P.s. Groves vs Eubank is an interesting fight. Groves wins a decision imo.

Eubank Jr is going down the route his father went down early in his career, facing lower level competition to inflate his record. Not even Senior faced a 9-1 bum in his 25th fight. Senior fought Nigel Benn.

I dont see him facing anyone of note next year. He will eventually start facing decent competition, but not for at least 12 months by the looks of it.

He will fight only 2 times this year as well because his crazy dad will make it impossible to get any fights signed, and the ITV box office will bomb.

wont happen as CEJ will want 50/50 split. IBO wont be enough be lucky to get 65/35 if groves has a world title

Would love to see this. Eubank is fast but not clever enough to box well with it against someone like GG. Groves would destroy him. Eubank would eat clean 1, 2s all night and be knocked out in my opinion.

Yes, but would you want to see the IBO being seen as 'credible' and have another world champion to the already farcical 4 at each weight?

The IBO has as much important as the WBF to me, I stand by the only the main 4 can be considered as part of a unification.

Anyway, I can't look beyond Groves. A jab is Jr's kryptonite and Groves' jab is probably the best in Britain.

I wouldn't want that, but I do wonder how much difference it would make. It's so rare that the best fight the best as it is. Boxers already have enough different routes to go down that they hardly ever have to take a fight unless they really want it. You could have 10 'world' titles and it would probably still be the same few fighters actually wanting to prove they are the best.

Eubank Junior needs to fight Martin Murray to give him/us an idea at what level he's at.

The reality is that he won't go near Murray because he won't shine against him, it'd be an ugly scrap and he wouldn't be able to spark him out either.

To be mentioned in the same breath as 'real' world champions, you've gotta own your own patch first. He isn't even the best southern English middleweight, never mind the whole of England, the U.K., European or World champ.

To all the trolls who keep on harping on about him, starting countless threads....he lost against BJS. "But he dominated the second half of the fight blah blah blah". As Frank Warren said, look at his record, it says he lost.

Would be a fight I would tune in for.

Groves is clearly the better boxer but Eubank Jr is clearly the better athlete. Fitness and a good chin will always give you a good chance vs Groves.

I think of Eubank can take him into deep waters he will get the win

Completely agree re: Murray. Fight him and we will know where he is right now.

Nobody recognizes the IBO as a legitimate world title, regardless of the Eubank rhetoric. Even so, I don't consider Groves/Eubank Jr to be a competitive match-up. I know some on here are high on Eubank Jr and rate him well but for me he's so crude and predictable that he'll always fail at the top level; which Groves is at. Granted, Eubank Jr is an impressive physical specimen but he's by no means a world beater. Groves boxes his head off all day long, book it.

Groves would have to knock CEJ in the first 3 rounds because like Froch, CEJ will get to him and Groves is chinny with poor stamina.

CEJ still has to beat Big Ren and Groves still has to beat Chudinov and there are no gimmes!!!

Maybe Fedor will try to avenge his brother against CEJ later this year

Chinny (wouldnt really call it that been KO'd by Froch x2 but could question his chin)
Stamina deffo has enough been 12 rounds Vs Degale/jack/Murray/Rebrasse (throwed 1k punches)/Eddie/Johnson

Groves would outbox CEJ and he has more power/skill. CEJ couldnt beat BJS at MW hed be a million in this fight IMO
