Chavez strength and conditioning coach Angel Heredia has said that he will start
preparing Chavez in Feb for Alvarez fight on May 5. The results he had with Juan
Marquez was amazing . Does this sound familiar ? Is there going to be a epic
upset ? We all know Heredia dodgy history. !!!

Chavez could be a much more difficult fight for Canelo than Canelo vs Golovkin. If we see a motivated, non-drained Chavez able to weigh-in at 164 or 165 we could see the best version of Chavez ever. And Oscar DLH has every right to be worried about this fight derailing Canelo vs Golovkin for September. This is a tough tough fight for Canelo, but as someone who wants to see Canelo vs GG in September I'm rooting for both Golovkin and Canelo to win so this mega fight happens!!

And no VADA testing, so we're getting monster versions of both of them in the ring, also rehydrating to massive proportions.

Let's just hope he can make the weight then,I believe he were around 168 in his last fight so it would mean dropping another 3 1/2 pounds which is actually quite a lot of weight on top.

If that was true, ODLH would have had Canelo fight GGG instead of Chavez. Even at his best Chavez isn't a quarter of the fighter that GGG is and this fight is a farce. It's a blatant money grab just like GGG vs Chavez would have been.

I said it could be more difficult. The could has to do with Chavez. This fight could light a fire under Chavez like no other. We've seen many different versions of Chavez, so it's hard to flat out say this will be tougher than Golovkin. But if Chavez really trains hard for this fight, if he's in top shape, focused and motivated (big IFs) then Canelo could be in for a tough fight. Canelo's giving away more weight vs Chavez than he would vs Golovkin. The size advantage Chavez has over both Golovkin and Canelo is significant.

Calling the fight a money grab is a little much, Canelo has shown he is a big draw no matter who is fighting. Canelo vs Smith was a big event, and not many even knew who Smith was. Calling it a money grab is acting like promoters and fighters shouldn't try to make big fights or something. Yes Canelo vs Chavez was made to make money, duh, to make the biggest fight out there before fighting Golovkin. Is that a bad thing? Shouldn't fighters try to make big fights and grab money while doing so?

If Jr can cut weight without turning into a zombie this might just be a good fight however Cheesburger Jr lacks discipline so I see him cutting way too late and look like the walking dead on fight night

I 'm not a Chavez jr fan at all but I'd like to see him completely
obliterate and stop Canelo. I'd love to see the apple cart turned
over with all this talk of Canelo/Golovkin being the biggest fight in
boxing. Canelo and Golden Boy's level of hubris is becoming
    unnerving. *shrugs*

Size advantage is negated by complete lack of skill - there is absolutely nothing that Chavez does on world class level. GGG has world class punching power, ring generalship, bodywork and agression. What does Chavez have? Ability to catch punches with his face? I am all for fighters making money, but the fights should be meaningful. Chavez hasn't weighted in under 168 in how many years now? The catch weight and the timing of the fight make it a money grab above all else. Chavez is coming off a devastating beating, long layoff and a bleak performance against a guy he should have knocked out in 6 rounds tops. Add to it the fact that he was never good in the first place and is only a name due to his father, and the money grab proof is complete. This fight will make good money but it won't give us much else. Even with memo, Chavez won't become a monster like Marquez. Dinamita has the spirit and the discipline on the wold class level. Jr can't even stop smoking weed to train.

It would be a better option if Canelo loses. A 100 million trilogy with Chavez is far safer for his health
than a single beating at the moment from Golovokin. However if the GGG is allowed to age another
2 years that would increase Canelo chance of wining.

He's going to be drained and he isn't that good to begin with. Canelo is probably going to ko him or at the very least win a dominating decision. We're going to see the best Canelo we have ever seen and we could very well see the worst Chavez jr ever.

Won't matter. He's likely been juiced before. Also who is to say that Canelo won't be on similar things lol?

If the incredible Hulk had a long layoff and was a level ten alcoholic with a beer belly, sure.
