If Sugar Ray Robinson was fighting all Monroe, Rubio, Ouma, Macklin, Murray, Brook, Geale, Wade, Lemieux, Stevens, types, he would have never lost. Golovkin's best opponents are guys that wouldn't be one of the ten best middleweights in the 90s. Golovkin fans hype up contender rejects, and guys that got trashed by Rubio to try and build Golovkin's resume up. It is really quite laughable. He is reigning over the weakest middleweight division in probably 50 or 60 years.

when he hasn't even finished his career
and hasn't fought anyone remotely close to Robinsons skill

You know as well as I that GGG has a tendency to want to entertain the fans based on his perceived threat level of his opponents. When they can't hurt him, he doesn't put in the effort he puts on a show and goes to war, when they can, he almost turns into Andre Ward defensively.

As far as the first part of your post, GGG's skill level, speed, defense, offense, ring cutting, footwork etc. is better than LaMotta and Basilio, who are both awesome, I have nothing against them, they were greats, but they weren't as accomplished technically, and they beat Robinson, as did Turpin, Maxim, Jones, and Fullmer.

So the idea that a guy who is more skilled than all of the people that beat Robinson, could also beat Robinson, isn't far fetched in the least.

LaMotta won just one fight out of 6 against Robinson. They coined one of the fights the 'st valentines day massacre' over how badly LaMotta was beaten.

Robinson believed he easily had the beating of Jake in the rematch and his brash personality motivated him to stand and trade even while LaMotta had a 15lbs weight advantage over him.

He took the loss and then beat 47-4-3 Jackie Wilson two weeks later. Incredibly Ray fought and beat LaMotta again just 7 days on from that fight. Employing slick and crafty skills to win again. All 3 fights were fought in a single month. All went the distance.

Put it this way - Ray would have fought Lara and two other guys in the time period from Brook to Danny Jacobs. He'd whoop them all including Jacobs without barely taking a break.

Take Ray into today , give him a two month expensive camp at big bear and he'd be even better than he was.. Put GGG back into Rays time and he'd be drained , weakened , lethargic having to fight on the day of the weight-in.

Not only that but Ray possessed all the tools to give Golovkin hell. He fights as good , if not better on the back foot than GGG does on the front foot. Ray's counter left hooks , uppercuts and awkward bolo type shots are critical to GGG who is wide open to those punches.
He can basically lead GGG onto him and still deliver stopping power in both hands. And he had the insane type of stamina and endurance to keep the fight in motion for 3 mins of every round - not to mention the footwork.

GGG would be in the ATG discussion had he took the fight with Ward and put a beating on him. There's still time for that but its unlikely. As it stands his record is just far too thin. And speaking of Ward , i don't think he would beat Robinson either.

Oh for sure I don't think that's ever been up for debate, still given how he beats em so easily it's not a stretch to think of him against any of the top middleweights of any era,all ifs and buts of course but hey.

He can't catch those guys anyway. He'd have to fight a killers row of top fighters from here on out.

    That's exactly what I meant.
Based on REAL observation data, I have Lamotta beating Golovkin by TKO. Lamotta was a much better version of Salido who could take a thousand punches and dish it out too.
The Raging Bull gores the Gorgeous Glamorous Golovkin.
