Precisely. I watched the early tapes and was amazed at how crude boxing was back then. The sport evolved tremendously and so did the pharmacy.

Hagler. When GGG stops a real top elite fighter with a good chin (not Jacobs ) then we can talk.

By these standards, which elite fighter did Hagler stop?

He fought 3 of them; couldn't do nothing with Duran and Leonard; was lucky Hearns broke his hand in the very first rd, or he would have gotten ko'd himself.
And it's not like Hearn's chin was exactly made of granite either.

Hagler is one of my favorite all time fighters but I have to respond to your real top elite fighter response. Top fighters do not want to get in the ring with him. You should probably ask what they know about him that you don't. You should appreciate good talent. If you don't like the boxer go ahead and wish they lose. For example, I do not like Mayweather and mostly rooted for his opponent but appreciated his skill and never denied it. There are a handful of special fighters out there, enjoy them, don't miss them. Root against them if don't like them but commenting that they are a bum makes you look ignorant like uppercut artist.

    I'm trolling yet you;

Had Chilemba up 6-0 on Kovalev

    Think Ward beat Kovalev easily

Think Echols and Allen KO GGG

Think Echols and Allen are much better than any of GGG's opponents.

    Errrrrm....O.K.!

The Echols that Hopkins fought, and the Allen from the first two Hopkins fights, would be Golovkin's toughest opponents. You obviously know nothing about the division back then. None of Golovkin's opponents would be one of the 10 best middleweights most years of the 90s. Hopkins at least had real blue collar opponents to fight. Guys that were tough and rugged. Not these pretty boys, bums, cans, ***gets, and over the hill Euro level guys that Golovkin has feasted on.

You may have misread, or I may have mistyped. I had Ward winning. There was nothing easy about that fight though for either guy. I don't give Kovalev a x3 multiplier for his punches though, like many of you butt sore Krusher fans do. I also don't discount clear scoring punches for Kovalev's opponents like most of you butt sore Krusher fans do. Only thing you can do is suck it up, and take Kovalev's loss like a man. You better Hope that Ward doesn't decide to retire, because your butt soreness may end up lasting till the day you expire.

Skimming through this conversation and this stuck out to me. GGG isn't perfect but whatever he lacks a punch arsenal isn't it. I specifically recall GGG throwing effective lead uppercut from the outside in several fights. The most obvious was the one where he almost knocked Rosado down with it. As a pressure fighter he uses it to keep his opponent off balance while they are retreat in on the back foot. I Also disagree with your claim that GGG great from the outside. He's very effective from the outside,

    Your hyperbole sustains me. Hahahahaha.....

    You had Ward winning "easily'.

You had Chilemba up 6-0 over Kovalev and said the same about Robert Allen as Echols.

How many rounds did you give Walters vs Loma 3?

Really I enjoy reading your posts. They are a window into madness that spotlight the darker side of the human condition.

AAS have changed little since then except back then they were real and/or not underdosed. Some peptides like IGF-1 were not around back then including all these lame SARM's that people are getting popped for today like Ostarine.

All that BALCO crap were just topical forms of TEST that yeilded poor absorption results compared to traditional injections. Trenbolone was also not around then but it is a poor choice for fighters due to it's horrific vasoconstriction properties that kill cardio.

Allen had already 2 stoppage losses to journeymen when he first met Hopkins.
His best win at that point was vs Lloyd Bryan, a 16-1 fighter who never had a good career win and finished 22-17 (of which 10 by KO).

Echols too had 2 losses and a draw to Lucas, with his best win vs Urbano Gurrola, 16-1, an even worse fighter than Bryan who only fought scrubbs.

Neither were better punchers/more durable/savvier than Stevens or Lemieux were.

Even Proska or Geale could be considered better fighters than either.

2 trial horses that Gennady would have gobbed up on the same night, being critiscized in the process for fighting poor opposition.

I love Triple G but if he's not knocking Hagler out which I genuinely can't see, I just don't know how Golovkin beats him.
Hagler had simply much more in the locker as a fighter than Golovkin.
He would outbox him not to a wide UD but a deserved hard fought one.

You could hold the same discourse about Duran, yet Marvin barely scraped by him.
Against some type of fighters, Marvin couldn't produce his best, even in his prime.

Not at all. Look at their fights with Hopkins. Those dudes would have ripped Stevens, the gay French Canadian, the boogerin Brit, and Geale's weak arse to shreds.
