If being agressive, muscle bound and athletic automatically makes you a great boxer, sure, they're world beaters.

Both were good but not elite amateurs.
Both got KO'd in their very first pro bout.
Both often telegraphed their blows and took pictures after punching.

Additionally, facing a negative fighter like Hopkins made them look better than in reality.

Lemieux would have ripped them in a few rds.

Stevens would have KO'd them at some moment or another, after continually playing possum, like he did vs Tureano.

Geale and Proska would have outpointed them.

Both Adama and N'Dam looked a million bucks, before being demolished by GGG and Lemieux.

How many times have we seen elite boxers mop the floor with solid, agressive, tough, body beautiful types lacking elite skills ?

I know exactly where you're coming from but you can also point to examples where, particularly against punchers he went out there took it to them and knocked them out.

    Yes,
But Gennady is more than a puncher; his boxing IQ is clearly superior to Marvin's.

Marvin lost his cool vs Hearns and nearly paid for it.
He didn't seem to know how to get to Duran and was too wary of counters.
He came out a righty vs Leonard and lost the decision.

On the other hand, Gennady would have trouble staying in front of Marvin and marching forward; he would beat Golovkin to the punch like Brook did and get out of the way before the counter comes.

But that was 34 year old Gennady; what would a 28 year old look like?

I say this without looking back at what you have posted previously and I don't mean this as an attack,
But how can you say GGG boxing IQ is clearly superior to Hagler and then use hearns, Duran and Leonard as point of reference? Maybe the way Hagler struggle with those had something to do with those 3 pedigree.
Duran is top 5 p4p of all time, best lightweight ever 4 division champ. Hearns is best lightmiddle ever 5 division champ and Leonard just voted the best fighter alive.
How can you judge GGG IQ when so far he only fought leumeux, Murray etc. To be honest GGG is a good fighter but I really didn't see anything more special than other greats I have seen live the last 30 years, actually he might not even make top 20 fighters of the last 30 years.

One strike in favor of Gennady is his unseen level for a 34 year old fighter and the way he adapts to win by KO, usually getting hardly touched in the process (Brook being the only exception), thanks to his power.

Marvin used a high energy style that was always going to run dry after 30.

Gennady's the cerebral one, Marvin's the physical one.

Hmm.. I really need to see more high level comp. He did great what a good fighter supposed to do against that level of competition.

Your post is laughable. Golovkin fights in the weakest middleweight division of the last 50 years.

Haters trying to say GGG's power is overrated, when Alvarez has one of the best chins in the game! He whoops Hagler in this poll by miles for a reason.

Golovkin may have more power than Hagler, I am not sure about that but one thing I am sure of is that Hagler would have taken Alvarez apart and stopped him.

I highly doubt Alvarez is getting stopped by anyone with the chin he has.

Hagler went the distance 10 times in his wins, I'm sure there's a lot on there that GGG would have knocked out easily. The poll is really lopsided.
