If it had been poker I'd favor the guy with a city in his name, but this is boxing so... Wilder KO... 9...

How do you view Wilder's resume for a 31 year old title holder with 4 defences and 37 fights?

    Average. What of it?

Martinez was 35 with 48 fights before he started his WBC title run. Everybody loved Sergio.

Not very impressive at all to be honest; however, what's more interesting is the poll. Conventional wisdom tells us that since the majority of boxing pundits on these boards feel Gerald will win....If Wilder somehow defies the odds and wins this fight he should receive an influx of new supporters or at the very least gain some positive comments from our crowd of ESB boxing scribes.

    Yes? No?

Wilder's the type of fighter who'll be voted against just to spite him. A more objective poll would (should) make him the firm favourite.

It'll be a decent win regardless.

    Average?

So in terms of HW resumes after 4 title defences you consider his to be of the average standard? As in round about the middle?

    For me it's awful.

The 11 who voted for Washington would surely be impressed by the victory.

I expect another 1 sided beat down.

The problem is, and you need not respond to this as what I'm about to say is an empirical fact beyond debate, if the two men had swapped those 3 names, you would say the exact opposite.

I have nothing against Vitali. Stiverne was a better WBC champ then Peters.

Review the Vitali fight again and come back and tell me with a straight face that Sam Peters could box.

Molina was 45th when he fought Wilder, all Wilder's opponents have been low ranked since Stiverne.
