I really, really, really hope that Chavez comes in shredded and with the eye of the tiger.

If he destroys Canelita, he could make millions fighting no-hopers for the rest of his career.

This will be best version of Canelo not having to drain to 155.
In Vegas at catch weight with no vada Chavez has no chance.
Easy payday for Canelo, this fight is a joke. Biggest in Mexican history? Oh IsaL :loel:

No. He was already ready from the beating he was taking off Amir Khan before an accidental punch ended the fight

I have faith in my man Chavez!

He's gonna put aside the burritos and the weed and train like a madman!

He's gonna come in ripped, fired up, and work Canelo's body to a pulp for a late stoppage!

    ... I hope :qmiedo:

Canelo is prepping an evacuation plan from GGG lol. Although I would love Junior to get down to give him the bidness, but to be honest I see canelo carrying him to make it seems closer for a potential rematch.

Size. If he can hurt Chavez and take his punches maybe he can take Golovkin too.

Saul and Oscar serving limbo. 154 is now a real struggle for them but Oscar doesn't believe Saul can cut it with the big boys at 160. Built like one but can't over power them and won't have a ridiculous weight advantage like he did at 147 and 154.

So rather than just getting on with being a middle weight facing other middle weights he is facing damaged good from other divisions.

I hope you are correct but I can honestly say I was in Mexico weeks ago and It gets no respect nor does he deserve any TBH.
The locals are ashamed of Jr and all expect Canelo to KO him and still side step GGG which I hope they are wrong Vato

This is what Oscar told Canelo. Don't fight GGG now, go after Chavez, pocket the $15 million now. It won't be on the table once GGG destroys you. Take the Chavez money now, then a tuneup for $5m. Then you can still get yourself killed by GGG. At least you're $20 million richer then.

The fight is simply to distract all his Mexican fans so they'll forget about how he ducked Golovkin.

A good point is made by the OP. GGG as of late is a very aggressive fighter. I don't think he fought the way he should have against Brook. That was a damaging fight for both men.

If GGG wants to approach Canelo, he will have to utilize his jab more. However, GGG seems to want to prove that he's the hardest person in the ring without a doubt, which will potentially be his undoing against Canelo.

Assuming GGG uses this style against Canelo, then Chavez will be a great test considering Chavez' size, tenacity, and likely extreme determination in representing who's the best fighter in Mexico.

Chavez on his A game is a very good fighter. We'll see how he decides to approach Canelo. Like GGG, Chavez would do best in deploying his offensive after establishing the jab.

It's always a good game plan to establish the jab. That's one of the main things that separates boxing from a street fight. If you have a good enough jab, you can stop your opponent's attacks and be able to deploy your offense.

I think this was intended more as an opportunity for a good payday with Chavez, than preparation for GGG.
