I'm not joking, after that Canelo KO I actually fear for Khan's health if he fights a Spence Jr, Brook, Thurman or even Garcia again.
Khan has the attributes but not the discipline to see him through. That's what has let him down over the years. Spence too strong and win by ko for me
There is a very odd mythology that Amir is some kind of spectacular boxer. He isn't, literally he has nothing but speed. He is actually one of the most basic fighters on the world stage. In his last 10 or 11 fights, who has Amir Khan put on a virtuoso performance against? Old Luis Collazo, a Zab that didn't want to be there and literally quit and Devon Alexander (who ended up losing embarrassingly to a journeyman and has now lost 4 of his last 6). I won't count the Molina kid at all, he doesn't even register. Amir went life and death with Maidana, with Lamont Peterson, went life and death with Kid Diaz, got dropped and went life and death with Algieri (a blown up version). He was also sparked by Danny and Cinnamon. Again, this myth that Khan is some type of elite boxer that only loses because of his chin needs to end. He loses because he's basic. Errol isn't ready for Thurman, Porter or Brook yet, but he'd decimate Amir in 3 rounds.
khan is a robot who is faster than you. anyone who can just learn to time his predetermined flurries will ko him.. at any weight.
Khan Always destroys face first sluggers. Also when has Khan ever lost to a southpaw? Bad style Match up for Spence, on the other hand Spence KO Crawford.
I like Spence, but im not sure I see him getting close consistent enough to do the heavy damage... Maidana had that overhand right, I havent seen enough from Spence to see him do damage from a distance to close distance with power, except maybe the jab to the body? HIs game is wrapped so tight... great withindistance but not when you got someone boppin around on a pogo stick..
i dont think you fully understand what you are watching when you see spence wreck guys. do you think part of his opponents gameplan is to allow this guy whose "game is wrapped so tight" right into their space? surely there must be some fighter on his record who thought "you know what, this guy is pretty good on the inside, i think im going to keep the fight at a distance". now find that guy and figure out why he wasnt successful, then you will better understand when and why spence is so good on the inside.
Maybe you're alluding to cutting the ring off? He eats up space so well.. round by round. I could defniftely see that happening as soon as Khan;s pace drops even in the slightest in the mid to late rounds. Spence pounces on that all day.
Thing is Khan is still very quick and has very good boxing skills BUT he always makes mistakes defensively and his ring iq is poor. Good fighters will capitalise on those mistakes and Spence is a very solid fighter. I'd see Khan possibly out boxing Spence in the early rounds then making mistakes and Spence winning by tko in around rounds 7-8.
