Teddy Atlas I don't rate Golovkin in my Top 10 pound for pound list

ESPN is a trash network. It has become sports oriented TMZ with an agenda. But regardless I agree that GGG shouldn't be on anyone's top 10 p4p list. I disagree with Atlas list but p4p lists are opinion and preference so I can't say mine would be any better.

 

He passed it all up out of his love and passion for the sport of boxing. He's exactly the type of guy espn should employ as an analyst.

All depends on his performance in the Jacobs fight doesn't it?whilst many saw flaws against Brook I saw someone with little respect for Brooks power though I admit he looked flustered as did Abel.
Golovkins game is based on pressure,range and power,he creates a pressure cooker environment where his opponents crumble,are unable to think and lose form in the tight space Golovkin allows em all the while GGG is thinking clearly and his footwork is impeccable,he does is own thing and therefore some don't see his game and how confident he is in it,bear in mind GGG looks like a college kid and doesn't look all that much,looks can be deceiving I guess?

I think Loma is the consensus P4P #1 these days. Ward/Kovalev are even stevens and deserve to be right up there as well along with Rigo.

I think Mikey Garcia is someone who can be as high as top 3 and I don't see on many people's lists.

 

what flaws against brook? do you mean his inability to become faster than a smaller, lighter fighter overnight?

 

Brook controlled the distance very well for the first 3 rounds, outjabbed the bigger stronger guy and landed several very good combinations. This isn't a criticism against Golovkin as I think Brook is an elite fighter. But is showed that he is human.
