Nothing will literally "level the playing field".

Some people are always going to react better to stimulus or drugs, and some are just luckier than others.
There's no level playing field in boxing or in life.
In boxing, often the main thing is the management, money and resources put behind a boxer to develop his talent and market him and get the right fights and the right time. That's the case whether PEDs exist or not.

Stopping drugs testing would free us from a lot of the hypocrisy and confusion though, and eliminate a new and growing area of boxing politics that is open to abuse and corruption.

Or maybe they could just not take banned pharmaceuticals?

Just train. Exercise. Learn their craft.

And not gobble down pill after pill, or inject shot after shot, or IVs after IVs, trying to "cycle on and off" and borrow their friend's p1ss and buy fake wieners to take a fake p1ss out of to avoid detection.

    Cheating is cheating.

    Christ.

So would not taking the drugs and crying foul when you got caught.

In fact, that would be less expensive for EVERYONE involved.

Sadly when money comes into it, that flies out the window

And lest not forget we're dealing with arguably the most corrupt sport on the planet

You'll never stop men trying to find an edge so why bother? If the athletes want to risk their long term health to achieve their goals in the sport then that's on them.

So far Jacobs has not enrolled in the voluntary VADA clean fighter program. And because they have not given details on testing for his fight w/ 3G, these guys now assume there's no testing at all. It's pretty silly.

Yeah, so let's allow any and all drugs.

Hell, let's also allow your corner men to run into the ring while you distract the ref and hit your opponent over the head with a folding chair ... or grab at his legs when he's moving around the ring.

I mean, the guy agreed to fight. It's on him, then. Right?

    What utter nonsense.

Don't take the banned drugs ... See how easy that is? See how much you save out-of-pocket?

How expensive will the sport of boxing be if everyone involved has to also buy all the drugs they can get their hands on in order to compete? How beholden to drug dealers will the sport be?

You think it's corrupt now? Basically require every fighter to get on a cycle of PEDs and require them to obtain those drugs by any means necessary.

    This argument is ridiculous.

Ban people who take them. Ruin high-profile careers of people who take them. Some will still try to cheat. But the sport won't be totally destroyed.

So neither fighter is getting tested for this fight at all?

I agree, in an ideal world with strict and fair testing then cheating should be a lifetime ban. Difference is though, we don't live in an ideal world....

You don't have to live in an ideal world. You just have to participate in a sport that has testing and will ban you for testing positive.

And, frankly, the sport hasn't been doing that for very long. Give it time.

That PEDs aren't as big a deal as people make them out to be.

Boxing has bigger problems than PED usage.

    Bottom line for me is.......
Anyone that uses any artificial stimulants of ANY kind are obviously not confident that they cam compete without CHEATING!! Any athlete using PED's is not that athlete he is that athlete artificially & illegally stimulated. & therefoe should be BANNED FOR LIFE!!

They should all be tested regularly, question is how do you stop corruption though? It's pretty clear Mayweather has almost certainly been a drug cheat for a long time and the cheeky ******* had the cheek to accuse everyone else!
