YOU'RE right, thats what I meant! Can we talk about all the great wins Galento had now?
Thomas had his licence pulled after the Galento fight.
Haynes went down from a non -existent punch.
Ettore had won 2 of his last 6 fights. Nova was thumbed all night before finally dropping to the canvas in the 14th rd of a disgraceful exhibition of fouling by Galento.
I don't see how his best wins equal Rahman's?

Ettore winning just 2 of his last 6 fights isnt a "bad streak"?
Is it a hot winning run then Mongoose Dan ?

That's the most ass backwards logic ive ever heard and being applied only so that you can sidestep Rahman's having the better resume. I don't blame you though as It's an understandable inconvenience to your argument. Like said... Contrarian...

And near the end of a very long fight against a man who's power AND chin was Galento's superior. I don't think Tony lasts that long.

“Galento was a bit shaky on his feet,” writes Galento biographer Joseph G. Donovan in Galento the Great, “but still that flame of fighting flickered. He rushed. He punched. He missed at times because of the lack of competitive action. He was short with blows. He looked weak for two rounds, but Galento started to show his old time spirit in the third round. And once he got the range, Thomas was a mark for body and head punches. Thomas was knocked down five times and stayed down after a barrage of head blows in the third round.”

“Sure, I was a bit weak and punch shy,” said Galento, “but once I started to bang him in the head with my nightstick, you know, my left hook, he weakened.”

“A punch to the temple hurt me more than anything else,” said Thomas after the bout.

Obviously unfamiliar with the adage of getting fooled not once but twice, the Galento fight was more of the same, with Thomas again getting shortchanged. And not just in boodle. Though the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission grudgingly awarded him his share of the purse, they banned him for life.

Perhaps they heard that some of Galento’s punches “barely landed.” But was that because of the supposed fix? Or because this was the burly barman’s first fight since a near-fatal bout with pneumonia?

    So?

Or you could say he won 12 of his last 15 and was only decisively defeated by Joe Louis while losing two competitive fights to John Henry Lewis in a trilogy, one being a majority decision.

I've listened to the broadcast and read numerous reports. That's an overly simple way of looking at it.

    Well, you forgot Nathan Mann.

Rahman beat Lewis. But his other wins are Sanders, Meehan, Sullivan, and 2 Gunz...so not hard to equal that.

You can't prove Tua had superior power AND chin to Galento anymore than I can prove the opposite.

Besides, I somehow doubt Galento would wait that long to get dirty.

You can address me, and say you disagree and why, which would be perfectly acceptable.

Why you keep running to Mcvey and talking trash to him about me, when I'm right here?

You don't give any import to Thomas being banned?
You don't accept that Galento fouled his way to victory over the moderate Nova?
Mann was a good win but does it equal Rahman koing Lewis? I'd pick Sanders to beat all Galento's victims.
    do you disagree Mongoose?

Of course Rahman has the better resume on paper, he KOed Lewis. I never argued resume vs resume.

What I actually wrote is on page 3, you can chose to read what I actually wrote and respond accordingly or continue to get all excited and post happy because you found someone that will back you.

And I wouldn't pick Sanders over all of Galento's victims.
