Klitschko I am obsessed with becoming 3x HW champ is AJ in trouble ?

He was an underdog against Sam Peters (at the time undefeated and in his personal prime) and got back off the canvas to win a UD.

That is proof my friend that A. Wlad thrives as an underdog and B.Does have a chin.

 

Hmm, 'couldn't' or 'didn't' pull the trigger vs 'can't'. It's up in the air for me. I wish we could see post-fury sparring footage.

 

I don't think Wlad is as shot as most people seem to. Fury is about as awkward a style as he could go up against, so I'm not ready to make any harsh judgements based on that fight.

I like AJ but he has some problems that no-one has tried to take advantage of yet. He leans forward after throwing a right-hand and, even when he brings it back, his left leg is still a little stiff. After throwing a power-punch, he leaves his chin more forward than his front leg. Against someone with a good defence and a jab, that could be a recipe for disaster.

I don't know how much Wlad has left but if he can still pull the trigger, AJ is in trouble.

 

It won't shock me AT ALL if he knocks the hell outta the "somewhat prematurely hyped" greenhorn he's facing. Ever since the fight was rumored to happen, I've firmly had him down as the clear favorite. And that hasn't changed.

Even the greats themselves ...such as Lewis, Foreman, etc... are picking Wladimir Klitschko to win, due to the vast experience advantage alone. That's not even accounting for the styles match-up, which also favors Wladimir heavily. He's got an opportunity to look as good as he did vs Pulev here... or better.

One way or the other, this is going to be a memorable moment for WK. He's got a ton of people writing him off -- they did the same the first time he fought Samuel Peter (for only Heaven knows why, since Peter was crude garbage compared to Joshua).

I get the sense that Wladimir is hungrier than ever now. He needs to pull this off and I think he knows it.


EDIT: As for AJ, credit to him for stepping up and putting his momentum on the line, looking to test himself against the best. But I just get the sense that he's walking into an inferno. He's faced no one who can prepare him for what (the currently obsessed) Wladimir presents.

I think Klitschko will win by experience, skills, stamina, defense, etc., Vitali said if Vlad is focused, the fight will be easy. I remember when Vlad was sparring Joshua in camp, it was no contest, Vlad out boxed him very easily, the question is how much has Joshua improved and how much has Vlad gone down hill since then, not that long ago though................Vitali said age will not be a factor. Vlad would have knocked Fury out in a rematch, I think Fury knew that...................Vlad was focused on that fight, he was obsessed and looking fantastic!!! People forget that Vlad is a very powerful puncher, has great offense whenever he decides to use it, great speed, great footwork, balance, etc., I know why he lost to Fury the first time, he was just not focused at all, there were some personal problems. Joshua has a puncher's chance, but if I were going to bet on the fight I would put my money on Vlad...............Vlad takes care of his health, has not gone down hill really, against Fury he would have certainly knocked Fury out..........................Looked awesome. I remember when Camerelle outboxed Joshua, beat him, but the home town judges gave it a decision to Joshua, only reason he won...........Vlad also knocked Wilder down with a jab, also flattened him with a left hook while sparring. By the way, Wilder picks Vlad to win................Vlad knows Joshua, knows what to expect, Joshua knows that when he was last in the ring with Vlad it was no contest, that will be in the back of Joshua's mind...........

im not sure with this. im a big AJ fan since the amateurs but im always weary when fighters face wlad. He can pull the trigger when he wants and quite clearly has been hurting and destroying opponents who are quite solid competitors.
but is he past it? i dont know. he looked terrible in the fury fight.
im giving it to AJ but wlad has got to have something left in there to bring to the table.
