I cant believe you are doing another Calzaghe thread Beouche.
I wasnt going to post but then saw how some just make comments that they know little about and thought I should let them know otherwise.

It was Calzaghe that agreed to face Hopkins years before he fought him in America.

he has destroyed two ex champs. beterbievs resume is better than that of joshua, wilder, or fury's. i know they are not in the same division. simply pointing out a fact.

 

I'm aware of Beterbiev talent, i'm aware of his talent and i'm aware of the weakness in the resumes of the heavyweight title holders, but my point is that Beterbiev hasn't beaten a top fighter to pick him against an atg/hof and undefeated champion like Calzaghe.

Beterbiev need only beat an injured unified titlist, and a weak titlist, both in beterbiev's backyard in order to surpass joe.

 

That's ok, but he doesn't have them in his resume yet, so pick him against Calzaghe when he does.

Beterbiev is no Lacy. Calzaghe wouldn't have had the stones to get in the ring with him.

I would pick Calzaghe over Jack or DeGale though.

 

That's fair. The Barrera fight will tell us a bit more about Beterbiev. I point out that Calzaghe getting a controversial decision over Hopkins, and then winning a UD over a totally shot Jones Jr. doesn't bode well for anyone trying to argue he would be able to hold his own in the current against better fighters than the 40 year olds he fought.

i have no idea who would win. i do not care to get caught up in endless debates that are purely a matter of opinion. just stated beterbiev had destroyed two ex champs and that the elite of the hw division atm all have shitty resumes.
