Funny how all the Wilder detractors were crying about how he was going to fight another drug cheat.

Well Povetkin was supposed to be his mando, not really his fault when Pedvetkin chose to fight Wach instead of Wilder, then tested positive, and then TESTED POSITIVE AGAIN. A large number might have been, but I'm sure if we did the research we'd see a lot of shitty fights taht were not mandos, since GGG has like 2 solid fights, Murray, and Lemieux.

Wilder was willing to fight Povetkin again even after he failed. I don't know if Wilder said he'd never fight Povetkin, but he went on him even harder after the 2nd failed drug test. And that's stupid, why would he drop his belt if he's so against former drug cheats, to just give that drug cheat a chance at getting the title even easier by fighting for it against some bum.

Wilder is coming off a hand injury, I guess he should have stayed inactive for more months to fight a Whyte, Chisora, or Pulev lmao who we don't even know would fight him.

Again can yo uplease stop with GGG references I do not understand how it is relevant .....

Simple question Povetkin aside how many mandos he fought ?

Pretty sure the answer is zero he won the title in 2015 !!!!! and this will be his 5th voluntary defense without facing his mado, yes WBC are partly to blame for this but he could have faced much better opposition at various points in this run ... he has to step up after this fight or he will become a joke

So he couldn't have done with an extra month/6 weeks to heal and got a better fight than Wazisname signed?

Stop it, you're sounding like the biggest fanboy at the minute.

Who's job is it to order a mandatory fight? Is it Wilder's? No it's the WBC. Povetkin was the mandatory, but it was HIS choice to delay the mando, then he got caught on PEDS. Is it Wilder's fault for not fighting Mandos?

Well we're discussing about how rankings are shitty, so GGG is relevant. Also GGG/Wilder careers are actually very comparable, so I do find it relevant. Both have fought opponents that might have been ranked too high in sanctioning bodies, and both have fought mediocre opposition, and both have been ducked or had issues with an opponent being a drug cheat preventing them from getting that fight.

Ellerbe has decided to go full out moron on this one and defend Wilder no matter what. It's stupid OTT nut huggery like this that make people hate Wilder even more.

They'd do so much better to admit he was untested and just back him to come through any steps up in class he makes, which they should be encouraging rather than encouraging him to avoid.

Give me names. So you're saying Chisora/Whyte would be ready within 3-4 after their gruelign war? Is chisora/whyte even that much better than Washington lmfao, Chisora is shot, and who has Whyte beat? The white rhino? LMFAO a guy he couldnt even stop. Chambers is a way better win than that. I guess Pulev was a possible name, and maybe Takam, those names might be betetr, but Wilder wouldnt get much more credit. The only names people truly want to see Wilder in to give im credit is Parker/Hughie winner, AJ/Wlad winner or Tyson fury, and none of those guys are available. Gerald isn't a bad fight.

Sorry I don't see the relevance at all, I have already agreed with you that GGG resume is thin but that is because in the main he is avoided !!!! Wilder had chances to fight some decent top 10 fighters the last 2 years and Povetkin aside he has avoided all of them choosing to fight in Alabama against no marks and never has beens

I'm not defending him no matter what. Let's be realistic and argue with facts, or at least realistic speculation. Nothing I've said has been unreasonable, so no I'm not fanboying.

I said given the circumstances Washington is an OK fight. It's not the worst but it's certainly not good and the circumstances are of Wilder's own making. I would have rather seen him in with Jennings who I'd still pick to beat Washington but it's not a huge difference. Breazeale would have been much of a muchness and Charles Martin has clearly got a drug problem and recovering from being knocked out and shot.

He clearly didn't fancy coming back from injury against Parker which I sort of understand and think his reason behind not fighting Ortiz is a bit dubious. Takam would have been a solid choice but Pulev would have laid down a marker. He also could have given Hughie a shot and he was much talked about despite his own brush with doping authorities.

Chisora/Whyte would have prob been happy to fight at the tail end of March but it may have been a bit too soon for either.

Fury and Chisora both called him out numerous times.

He was supposed to fight Chisora in 2013

Chisora then called him out numerous times after

Anyone remeber his open letter to Deontay

'I’m in this business to prove that I’m the best and to become a world champion which I’m sure you are too, so take me up on my challenge and let’s do this and get it on early next year.

'I’ll be honest, I don’t rate you. You’ve put together a record of 30 knockouts from 30 fights, but I believe that you are grossly over-hyped for knocking over nobodies - which is understandable for the first two years as a pro when you’re learning - but after 30 fights you’re still knocking over nobodies.

'As a guide I fought Vitali Klitschko for the world title in only my 18th fight. When are you going to step up and fight a real contender?

'There’s only one way to prove me wrong and shut me up and that is to get in the ring with me.'

Wilder was the one that wanted the Fury fight since 2013. I don't know what you're going on about, Wilder definitely did not avoid that fight. I don't think Fury avoided it either, but unless you got valid proof of Wilder ducking Fury then what you said has no credibility. I can say the exact same thing and say Wilder called out Fury and Fury avoided it.
As for Chisora I have no clue about that. If Chisora is the best name you can come up with haha I don't even know what to say. Chisora is solid, but it's not exactly the kind of win that would make anyone say ANYTHING differently about Wilder, let's be hoenst.

Pretty sure Parker was the one who preferred to fight Fury over Wilder. Let's be honest Wilder would easily beat Parker, I highly doubt h does not want that fight.
