1) I agree CEJ is physically imposing and has a lot of talent 2) I'd like to see him vs GGG 3) I don't think he beats GGG 4) He needs to get a proper manager.
I think Kell Brook should be commended. He took on the man everyone else is ducking Gennady Golovkin Kell deserved every penny he got/
J5000 is "weight challenged". When he says 'midget' he means 'bigger than Golovkin" and when he says "Golovkin is huge" he means "Golovkin is small for 160".
First of all, I didn't see the killer attitude or the same confidence that he shows against domestic level opponents against Saunders or Chudinov, his only two opponents that were above the domestic level. Second, I thought he clearly lost to Saunders. The way I saw It, there was a stronger case for him winning wide then Jr winning seven rounds. And It wasn't because CEJ figured him out, it was because Saunders always fades in second halfs of the fights. He faded against Andy Lee, even against the guys like Blackwell and John Ryder. And despite him fading, abandoning his jab, standing in the middle of the ring, fighting CEJ's fight, rounds were still close with back and forth action late in the fight. And as a fan, you should look to his weaknesses to see how much he's improved. It's easy to look good against his recent opposition, but when you assess his chances against top guys especially GGG, you have to take his weaknesses into consideration(especially him being sucker to a stiff jab and a counter left hook). Regarding his power, he's had 3 decent opponents so far, and he hasn't scored a KD or even had them badly hurt despite getting the stoppage in two of them. So if he wants to display power, he should get in the ring with someone like a Martin Murray or even a Curtis Stevens. Is he exciting? Sure. He can give us plenty entertaining fights at European level, fringe world level or at contender level. But if you wanna talk about his chances at the highest level, there's no way a guy with shitty defence, a weak jab relatively sloppy technique and slightly above average power beating GGG(unless he dramatically declines). Just forget about it. GGG vs Jacobs, Saunders, Canelo, Jermall, Lara, DeGale, Zurdo, Groves are all more intriguing fights than that.
Meanwhile in the real world CEJ has yet to fight a live opponent. I wonder why he couldn't borrow a pen if he'd lost his own?
One of us is going to be proved wrong I can't see the BJS 2 fight ever happening with Frankie in his corner, even with big money on the table. I don't even really care tbh, if Jr beats Degale or GGG it won't even matter. Those fights and Groves will be easily made IMO with money on the table. Murray and Stevens would be ok fights, but they won't change your opinion no doubt.
I'd love to see him against DeGale, I think he'd be a live dog in that fight. But DeGale has mandatory obligations next, so Junior is likely to take another fight in the meantime. It should be against someone like a Murray or Stevens. And if he dominates and scores a KO against either, you can bet I'll be here to admit I underrated him.
Murray probably makes more sense because Jr sounds like he wont be going to 160 unless it's a big fight and Murray is already campaigning @ 168 so won't have any issues. Stevens is fighting Lemieux and if he can get past him then he should move up and come get some. Tko counts as good as a ko and GGG took 11 rounds to tko Murray and I don't want any he's shot excuses because Murray pretty much had a career best performance against Groves.
This content is protected GGG didn't have to fight a welterweight. He is like the big kid at school taking dinner money from the skinny weeds.
Yeah totally agree he took a guaranteed beating and loss to a monster all for the money when he should of taken Vargas and maybe some other quick turn around fight for a payday,as it happens Golovkin nearly jeopardised his career,Brook is a tough son of a **** but that broken eye socket could prove troublesome.
