I saw quite a few of his fights live ,I wouldn't say he had huge power, good but not huge,he was slow though.

Would love to have seen mason in with some of the big names of the Time. Bruno, tyson, Ruddock, foreman, morrison. Seem a shame never happened. Had a good punch on him and decent chin. Was gutted to hear about his death

I'd pick him to beat Morrison.
He'd have a good chance against Bruno but I'd make Frank a favourite.
Tyson, Foreman and Ruddock at their bests should have defeated him quite comfortably.

Morrison would be too fast for him imo. Bruno would jab his head off.

I can imagine Mason catching up with Morrison and doing to him what Mercer did.
I reckon Mason would give Bruno a decent fight at the very least. Mason had skills, he'd block and slip that jab enough to make it competitive. They knew each other well of course, sparred plenty of rounds together.

Would like to have seen him against moorer for the title in 94 "he would have crashed moorer to the canvas before big George did

I doubt it. If Moorer would of not stayed in front of Foreman he would of won. I am assuming if people gave Moorer credit for beating Holyfield he wouldn't of tried to prove something against George. A confident Moorer would of beat Mason. But Mason could punch and maybe he would get lucky like George did. In any case I would of love to see him fight other top guys besides Lewis as well.

I get the feeling against moorer he could have got lucky, he had a good chin and a solid right, he would have been confident against moorer

Yeah he was good...big puncher and decent skills.
He didn,t have the speed to succeed at top level though

exactly lewis v mason was a competitive fight and gary although he mounted a brave blind charge at end was outclassed by lewis.huge credit to both for taking that fight which was rare back than.

if mason hadn't taken it ..and the reason he did was probably with a huge queue forming of 1 champ holy....tyson,foreman,ruddock,tucker and than mercer, bowe, morrison emerging very fast he figured to get a shot he needed a big ish win.a shame, lewis was a wrong matchup...he shoulda bashed up a shot pinklon thomas or fought a carl williams bwfore lewis even back than lewis had the look of a top 5 guy he would become the next year

mason had good power, output and solid yet predictable offence but was very slow of hand and foot.he had a much better chin and stamina than bruno though

mason -bruno woulda been a dream

I don't think he was slow, I think like most heavyweights who believe in their power ( I mean heavyweights not 180 pound fighters) they tend to just look for one punch.

That's what I think. Of course given that Morrison was stopped in one round by Michael Bentt and struggled life and death with an 8-8 Ross Purity to a draw its hard to make any solid convictions about picking him over anyone.
