Is Ward gutless for not agreeing to a rematch?

FWIW I happen to box for sport, which includes light sparring along with workouts to keep fit and sharp. However I'm too creative to limit myself to get hit in the head for a living thereby resigning myself to parkinsons and memory loss later in life. That isn't what a truly intelligent person subjects himself to. Let's be honest most of these fighters are not the sharpest tools in the box.

I love listening to the faux tough guys on here. It is good amusement. I've already had a clown call me out to fight as he was desperate to prove something. After some incessant provocation, he convinced me that it wasn't such a bad idea to prove who was the stronger man. So I was more than willing to have an arranged sparring session inside a gym of his choosing, yet when became apparent that I was serious about making the schedule, he seemed to get cold feet and make ridiculous demands which proved he wasn't serious.

I've said it many a time, but it still rings true today -It's very easy to talk tough fighting talk behind a computer screen and call people names as if you are an expert in defending yourself.... much harder to prove your mettle in the real world with no screen and basement protecting you. It coincides with the much renowned proverb by the great Lao Tzu ''Those who know don't speak and those who speak don't know.'' which I prefer to the dogs who bark the loudest are often those most afraid.

Food for thought, before you open your mouth to the wrong person in future.

Your logic only applies if ward does not rematch! That has yet to be seen! People, as you may know, said a lot of things about Ward prior to the first fight. Many said he would never get into the ring with Kovalev. Ward proved them wrong. So I don't know why you, along with some of the Ward detractors, don't give him the benefit of the doubt. There is no justification for calling Ward a coward either! He has not declined the rematch. If that happens , then yes, he can be labeled a coward. I personally believe he will rematch.

 

It's hasn't been 4 months yet! All you guys get so uptight but, in reality rematches don't get made all that quick. I, unlike you, think the fight gets made sometime this year. Kov will have his shot at redemption and all will be right with the boxing world. I can't make the call on who wins, but I will predict that Kov "will not" get a knock out. He had his chance and let it slip away. Ward knows what to expect and will be ready for the big bombs. Personally I think the knock down blew Kovs chances for a knockout. He seemed to get frustrated and rush more than normal. He set the KD up nicely, but Ward was too crafty for Kov to duplicate the second round KD. I can't wait, this will have every boxing fan sitting on pins and needles. That means you too BCS8, you too!!!
