I find it baffling how Jr is carrying that belt around everywhere like it's legit. And actually classifying himself as a world champion. Even by the Eubanks standards, it's a bit ****ing strange. He's not stupid like, surely he knows he's not a world champion?

And telling world champions who have fought for real titles v top opponents that they "need to step up" and face him is an insult to everyone associated with boxing. He's the one who only stepped up once in his career and suffered a clear loss. They talk about injustices in boxing but they're doing the sport a serious injustice right now.

to be fair, his dad brandished the 90s wbo-rthless one which meant fcuk all at the time, although Snr did grab a proper belt later and more to the point had some illustrious fights.

He knows its fake, its about making money off his Dads name and being of the kind of character that has never cared for being genuine. The guys probably a total dyck, you wouldnt trust him to walk your dog with that kind of non-existent integrity.

    I hear you
it's extremely misleading but fighters and promoters can use that label to draw in crowds and promotional $$$
felix sturm is a classic example - 4 time 'world champion' who maintained a lucrative contract with german TV so long as he held a belt, and he made a lot of $$ by never fighting a top MW in his life (though he certainly lost to some ordinary fighters)
witrhout one federation, boxing is a mire of corruption and shameless misinformation

Australia's very own Danny Green is prob the best example. If you read his wiki page you'd think he was a legit 4 time world champ when the truth is he wasn't.

    exactly
he doesn't live far from me, but i'm not the kind of person to turn a blind eye to a fighter's achievements (or lack of) because they are local
green was a decent cruiser, but that's about it

I'm told he genuinely took it to a concert with him. Awful.

He had to promise his dad that he would return the belt before 11pm that night.

Him and his dad are the biggest cringebags in boxing. Desperate to convince everyone he is world champion, even casuals aren't buying it. The fact he is bringing the belt everywhere is hilarious, literally no self awareness, it's comedy gold.

Sr was on TalkSport late last night, he was directly asked if the IBO title was a main title or one to be taken seriously and his reply was along these lines....

Governing bodies don't matter, the fighter makes the belt not the other way around.

That was Sr's take on it, so basically now Jr holds the IBO title it's a great title.
