A few months back Wilder mentioned in an interview that he wanted to add extra muscle weight. Naturally, the interviewer asked why, extra power? reduce risk of injury etc..
The answer was telling, he said was for aesthetic purposes so he could look better. I figured at the time he said this as he was perhaps a little jealous of the attention AJ was getting and wanted to try and bulk up similarly. All of these little jabs he is putting his way does nothing to dispel the fact that he appears to be looking toward AJ with a tint of green in his eyes.

At least the HW division is starting to have meaningful fights on a more consistent basis. I don't think any of the top guys are avoiding each other. I expect Wilder to face either Parker or the winner of Joshua-Wladimir at some point this year.

I know he sustained an injury, but even with a tune-up, Wilder should be ready for a unification fight by later summer/early fall. It's the perfect time for all these guys to fight each other.

Don't think he's jealous, just a hater. You didn't see Wilder really trying to get a Klitschko fight that's for sure.

See I'm the opposite I think he's jealous coz Joshua was knocking over overmatched opponents just like wilder but he's loved down here in the uk. That must be annoying for him but he only has himself to blame he's 37 fights deep with no A level name on his record. After Povetkin failed he should pursued a good name.

I think he's saying it because he's being asked. Unless he's taking it upon himself to make comments out of thin air?

There is a very high probability that Wilder is 100% right in his prediction.

Vlad is a B-level boxer, but has proven that he is the king of the b-level boxers.
Joshua has never faced Vlad level of opposition. This will be the most skilled and experienced boxer he's yet faced in his career.
I believe Joshua would be much better prepared if he had faced the other top young HWs like Wilder, Parker, Ruiz and Ortiz, and especially Fury, BEFORE he faced Vlad. That would have provided him with much more experience against equally talented opponents.

Vlad is eager to catch Joshua in this premature state where he lacks big fight experience and has not demonstrated that he is capable of adjusting to a mix of styles. Vlad is also getting older and doesn't want to give up an age advantage. He is no Bernard Hopkins.

I predict that there is an 80% chance that Wilder is exactly right in his assessment.
It's not hate as expressed by juvenile Hip-Hop defence mechanism, but fact based on empirical data.

He probably was asked about AJ vs Vlad but to bring in comments comparing AJ to Price, saying AJ doesn't want the big fights Hearn is controlling him when AJ signed a 50-50 deal with Matchroom, also saying AJ hasn't fought anyone when he's beating similar skilled opponents to Wilder in less fights suggests to me he probably envies the amount of attention AJ gets.

There both similar when you think about it both are Olympic medalists, KO artists and world title holders. If Wilder was from the UK he would have so much more fans and get much support that has to be said.

Vlad is a B-level boxer? I know you have your biases but that is absolute nonsense, you don't stay champ for 10 years by being a B-level guy.

If your picking Vlad against AJ, would you pick Vlad against Wilder??

Wilder loves to talk about other fighters once he's signed to face another bum.
His next fight will be 'big'.

Your right, if Vlad and Aj winner fights pulev, Ortiz vs Stiverne become mandatory for the WBC, Parker vs Fury winner can unify with Wilder in the summer. That leaves two guys with two belts each then a final fight between them for all the marbled and the undisputed status, obviously this is in a ideal world and boxing is never this efficient but hey a man can dream.

Vlad stayed champion for ten years by beating all the the b-level opponents in that division such as Haye, Peters, Pulev, Mormeck, Jennings, Wach, Chambers, etc.
Vlad has never faced an A-level opponent in his career.

Lennox Lewis beat up his brother and retired, and both Tua and Ibeabuchi were derailed using legal obstacles.

The two boxers who both knocked Vlad out cold were b-level boxers.
Vlad is not A-level. He is just the best of the Bs.

Wilder is starting to get on my nerves. Its one thing to keep beating a string of nobodies in an unprecedented chain of 5 volunteer defenses in a row, after picking the belt off an endangered species of beached whale. Its another to call out other fighters that refuse to follow the blueprint of soft touches and safety first matchmaking and tell them they are making a mistake for trying to secure ATG status for themselves. AJ wants to be the best in the world, so he is going for the only ATG currently in the HW division - the severely faded and aged, but still dangerous Klitschko. Wilder wants to make money and fight the bottom of the barrel - that's his call. But he should keep his ungrateful mouth shut when it comes to others aspiring for greatness.

Wilder certainly likes to hate on people when there is a great distance between them. Twice as many fights as AJ yet already with a weaker resume. I think ive been had Wilder all 3 of his last fights before he knocked his opponents out, I think ive only scored 1 round against Joshua in his whole professional career, including Molina who had Wilder running scared.

Deontay knows he isnt half the Boxer Anthony Joshua is.

You should take a long and good look at Vlad's first 36 opponents. They weren't much different than Wilder's.
