Doesn't have to be even 70% of the fighter he was to comfortably beat Bellew. From what I have seen since his comeback, I would actually rate him as potentially better than he ever was previously, as a heavy. A minority view I know.
What did you see in his comeback that makes you think that? Not trying to pick arguments btw. Genuinely interested. If he's still in there after round 6, then Haye will start to get anxious and every round from then will feel like a victory for Bellew. He's the underdog. Haye is expected to beat him easy. That's what he's told everyone, that he doesn't even need to try and he'll spark him. He's put the pressure on himself now.
It is not so much his fights. More what he has been doing in training. The extra weight, which I think has given him loads extra core strength. He just looks now a more solid heavy, rather than a cruiser fighting at heavy. I think the fight with Bellew will genuinely show this...i.e they are not two cruisers blown up to heavy. Haye will show why he is now a genuine heavy. People keep saying he will come in light for the fight. Not entirely sure where they get the notion he will, or needs to. I have seen a clip a while back of Haye saying he will come in light, but I think that is just him playing. I would imagine him coming in around 224-226lb region.
Bellew says he's in great shape and 225 pounds right now... Only a couple of stone overweight with3 weeks to go...
