Nothing that Tyson Fury has ever said, merits the targetted campaign of abuse directed to him by the media, to the point of the marxist BBC wanting to ban him from Sports personality of the year. Furthermore, I know of many fighters from black and muslim backgrounds who have said more controversial things (to your typical liberal leftist marxist in the media), who have received not one scintilla of criticism.

Double standards are really really easy to point out.

Home town fighters usually win the fights..............Joshua lost to Camerelle, but the home judges gave the decision to Joshua, Camerelle outboxed him...........SOB Ward was given a gift after getting beaten up by Kovalev, but his judges and referee were there to give him a gift decision, the fans were for SOB before the fight, but when the decision was announced even Ward's fans booed. Harold Lederman had it 116 -111 and he wanted Ward to win.......................Kovalev beat Ward, more than 82 % of boxing writers and fans had Kovalev winning................Ward's territory, Ward's judges, Ward's referee, Ward's boxing commission, etc.

I'm very consistent on the matter, I don't care what your reasons for being racist/sexist/xenophobic or homophobic are and don't give anyone a pass on the matter. Being libertarian in nature I think everyone should leave everyone else alone lest they be looking to violate the rights of others.

You're right in saying that there is a ridiculous tolerance of predominantly white left media to give a pass on certain viewpoints to a number of ethnic groups as it's within their 'culture'.

The white liberals who allow certain ethnic groups to get away with hatefilled views, whilst holding other groups like travellers to the strictest standards, are displaying the racism of low expectations. They are also funnily enough the first people of any group to call others racist.

You have to apply your standards to all groups evenly.

I would allow full freedom of speech, with the exception of speech that incites or encourages violence. There should not be different standards because you are white traveller like Fury compared to a black boxer like Bernard Hopkins for example.

Personally I don't agree with the Equality act 2010 and refuse to recognise Irish travellers as a race any more than I would recognise benefits scroungers as a race. It is a lifestyle choice, not a race of human. Here is the irony of it all, under the Euality act 2010 if you are an Irish traveller and living in settled accommodation, you are protected against discrimination. If you are a Welsh or Scottish traveller, you are no longer recognised and protected. If you are an English traveller, then you don't actually exist, you are just English. So a legal act of law intended to protect against discrimination, actually ends up itself being discriminatory.

As for the boxers named in the OP. I dislike them because they are tw*ts not because the are travellers. Two thirds of them are disgraced drug cheats so hardly poster boys for the 'race'. Being a traveller shouldn't even be relevant, but every time one of these boys gets criticism they don't like they play the 'race' card, rather than look at the issues that may have caused the criticism in the first place.

Where they also undisputed heavyweight champions of the world? Any heavyweight champ who openly criticises gays, jews and women (whether serious or in jest) is going to get a pasting in the press. Just the way the media works. Plenty of others in similar positions from different walks of life who have suffered the same fate. The value of your opinion increases the more recognition you achieve.

    There's only one human race.

I refuse to recognize all "races, "ethnicity" and "nationality". It's all a social and historical construct.

    But that's just me.

They are not recognised as a race bud, but they are classed as an ethnic group.

Race is biological whereas ethnicity is cultural although obviously you do get a links between both but they are two separate things.

Not being purposely patronising but just clearing up that there is a difference.

Tyson was the author of his own downfall to be honest, completely blew it by grassing himself up as a coke user, just as he was on the verge of big things, wrecked his own career, bjs the same great boxer who just couldn't focus on boxing, long periods out the ring bloated etc why would people respect that. They're victims of their own stupidity

It's absolute bull**** about them being Travellers.
In Tyson Fury's case he's put people off because of the sometimes obnoxious comments he's came out with, apart from the fact despite his achievements he's not exactly the most exciting heavyweight to enter the ring.
Billy Joe Saunders get's just about the credit he deserves no more no less.
Lee and Eubank Junior are decent scalps but despite apparent good offers he hasn't shown much of an inclination to step it up against a Golovkin or whoever, that's when he actually does decide to enter a ring.
As for Hughie Fury he simply isn't very good and for a big heavyweight he couldn't crack an egg.
Why do people seek out the prejudice card where it doesn't exist.

Look when we talk about being giving a fair shake we have a very good comparison point.

    AJ vs Fury

AJ even before he levelled out Whyte- was getting far more love, respect and hype by the mass media than Fury ever was even before he was caught on video saying that stuff about the Joos. The praise of Fury was very muted even before he said that stuff that the communists dont like.

Fury a mature, successful and exciting HW....compared to AJ a fairly bland and novice HW- hmmmm. Who should honestly be getting more coverage and hype? Come on, spit it out.

The fact remains, Billy Joe Saunders has a much more impressive record than Eubank Jn. He has a proper belt too. Yet, he never has and never will get the same positive media attention that Eubank Jn commands despite being a better fighter imo.

This is where any tiny bit of credibility you have remaining on this forum vanishes forever.
