You know what's even funnier? Golovkin has never been in the ring with an opponent as good as Fonfara. It's a shame to admit, but so far, the best opponent Golovkin has faced is a mediocre welterweight named Kell Brook, who is a B-class welterweight. That's a damn shame but after seeing the Brook fight, we now know why.
His entire career has been smoke and mirrors... Any success at MW was down purely to his massive size advantage. Lee was outboxing him before getting worn down and stopped by the bigger fighter. He didn't look too hot against Rubio either. Of course any fight that's remotely close he'll win i.e Zbik and Vera I. Martinez completely schooled him 11-0 before foolishly abandoning his boxing and brawling trying to score a late KO, bravado got the best of him.. Seeing Fonfara beat his ass, knock him down and finally forcing him to quit was great.
