Prior to GGG hearn said they made offers to Bradley and Garcia. They told HBO they would fight cotto in a heartbeat. We all know how long they have tried to get Khan in the ring.

for pac maybe but under the circumstances they both been knocked out pac is old seen better days. but really yes for one reason hes coming off a loss. so yeah i would get in the win colum n test the eye out vs pretty much any one . if it wasnt for the eye injury he wouldnt need a tune up vs everyone but spence never lost yet hes fully confident hes a handful right now at this moment we think its still really unknown

Is Brook asking for any credit or are you just buying into Spence's early mind games?

I didn't say Brook is asking for credit, did I? I think Spence is talking about the Brook fans saying look how brave he is for taking this fight, when really he tried to make easier and more lucrative fights before he had to settle for this one.

I remember a week ago, Brook said 'I can't get up for a Spence fight because no one knows him', then yesterday he said 'I'm gunna fight Spence and defend my belt because I wanna give the fans what they want'.

I'm just saying he hasn't been consistent but if I'm glad he's taking this fight and if he wins I will be saying wow this guy is a heck of a fighter.

Interestingly enough, I was thinking the same. I praised Brook but the truth is, he did everything he could to avoid Spence. EVERYTHING. But he couldn't (at least he didn't milk the belt more, though).
    I'm Team Spence.

I'm torn between I want Brook to win as the British fighter, but i think Spence is the future and will take the tougher fights so I wouldn't mind him winning. I just hope the best fighter on the night wins and there isn't anything contraversial just a clean win for either man.

He can't help it if others give him credit for taking on Spence. I agree it's a mandatory, so it's not like he went looking for Spence. But fighting GG and Spence back-to-back kinda kills the theory Brook is a protected fighter, which some people claim.

You talk about consistency but you have to remember this is in the context of negotiations and sometimes it's wise to play down someone as an opponent when deals are being made. Maybe sounding disinterested in the fight helped get it made in the UK? Who knows? And Brook will be guided on what to say by Hearn, so I don't really get why you're making such a big deal over a boxer saying one thing one week and another the next.

Yeah, exact same view. Spence is quite likeable and a Brit so it makes it tougher but Spence is more ambitious and will give us the fights he want.

Don't care how this fight came about, it's happening. Brook isn't ducking Spence, he's not taking a tune up after GGG. Both guys deserve credit, spence is coming to the uk and brook is fighting someone relatively unknown among casuals, it's very risky.

As a Brit I do think Brook has been protected his whole career, here are my reasons:

His 14 years deep in his career with one top win on his resume. When he won the title they rushed to fight his mandatory which was easy, I didn't really care coz he was doing what he had to do as a champ. He then faced Gavin as a voluntary which was shocking. Then there was talk about him facing Bradley and Rios, they couldn't finalise those fights so they settled on Chaves. Brook pulls out with a rib injury from sparring and fights Bizier 4 months later.

After Bizier the serious talk is Brook vs Khan again but Amir messes that up and goes to fight Canelo. Brook gets lined up for a Jessie Vargas fight which would allow him to become the WBO/IBF Champion but that falls apart after Brook is not happy with his purse.

Sensing his career is going nowhere, Khan having a big fight and Spence is emerging as the likely mandatory there is mention of Brook moving up and fighting Liam smith for WBO super welter belt. Kell finally says **** it and makes a money grab when a GGG fight is put on the table.

Sorry for the essay but I just want people to see why some people say he has been protected. However I will add Brook is an excellent fighter and is not a bum like some haters claim, I also acknowledge he has some bad luck in his career like being stabbed which took some time off his career. I just wish Hearn and himself had as much faith in him as some of his fans do.
