Hey Genius, there is no fight without first having some negotiations.

    1 + 1 = 2

The bottom line is GBP offered K2 a record $10M paycheck to fight A-side Canelo and K2 whined, moaned and stuttered their way to a rejection.
At this point everything rides on how Golovkin does against his best opponent to date, b-level Jacobs.
Even if Golovkin beats Jacobs and gains all the MW belts, I doubt that it will make any difference in his star appeal. His US draw will still be akin to Vlad Klitscho's 10 year reign, so GBP is still not forced to share revenue from Canelo's massive draw with Golovkin and his 10,000 fan draw.
    and the world turns.

Bumlovkin will be 35 in April. There is no "long run". His career will likely be over within the next 2-3 years. They need to make the big money fight NOW while it's still available. If Alvarez loses before Bumlovkin gets his turn, that $15 mil dollar payday evaporates into thin air. The Triple Duck can't make that kind of coin anywhere else...

agreed...if theres any "long run" in golovkins career it wont be good...because he'll end up getting worked more than once.....

if canelo loses ggg could prob chase whoever beats him...but it wont be nearly as lucrative.....

True, but while other fighters like Canelo, Chavez, Kovalev, and Ward have been through many rough and tough competitive bouts that have body ageing affects on the body, Golovkin has had one of the softest careers of all professional boxers. He has never been in with a top level opponent and therefore has been in no wars. Because of this, his body has not experienced the wear and tear of other real boxing champions. His body is like the car that is only used to drive a couple blocks to the grocery store and back.

However, Brook has exposed the fact that this car is not a Formula 1, but just a Ford Taurus.
Golovkin has absolutely no defensive skills. He totally depends on offence as defence with no head movement, no body movement and not roll.
Canelo will eat this up as well as a craftsman like Lara. This is why K2 kept Golovkin far away from boxers like Lara and rejected Canelo's 156 offer.
Golovkin is a knock out waiting to happen.

    No doubt.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jacobs clowns his ass...

I don't think 3G is complaining about the 15 mill. They just have a fight to focus on.

You still keep dodging the question if the take there ppv numbers and did that like they wanted to do Manny and Floyd. Would you consider that fair a neutral firm did the numbers.

I didn't realize you were trying to get an answer out of me. But I guess I'll entertain that.

For starters, that idea worked for Floyd and manny because both guys were huge draws, pulling up to a mill buys in their PPV prime.

And you want to use the last three for each? Well, you know already 3G has only been a part of two PPV's so far. So....now what? Just going to go by his two?

If we go back to Canelo's last two, 300K and 600K, that's an average of 450K buys his last two fights. With 3G, that's 150K and 500K, for an average of 325K his last two. 450K to 325k. Not too bad I suppose. :)

But that idea of using a firm, or arbitrator, doesn't work for every situation. Floyd and Oscar didn't use one when they fought. And floyd's purse went from 8mill and 350K buys to 26mill, and 2 mill buys. So how in the world could floyd's purse go from 8 mill to 26 mill and 350K buys to 2 mill buys? I'll tell you.

Because of the match-up. A fight is more than just the sum of its parts. Together it takes a life of it's own. That's why having a big partner is so important to the buys. Canelo versus an established fighter will always sell more then Canelo versus another beefy smith level fighter. Just like Floyd's numbers took a dive when he didn't have an attractive opponent.

Now...what does thast have to do with 3G /Canelo? Well, it's just to show that prior purses or PPV buys aren't the be all, end all, of a fighters worth.

Anyway, sorry if that was a little long winded, or 'slightly' off topic. But it was apt.

Without a doubt the Gaylovetards are the slowest fans in boxing.
