Stevenson vs Monaghan in the works loool

So basically Stevenson is doing what Wlad did for 10 years. Fights guys who shouldn't be in a title fight? Fight guys with cute undefeated records but haven't fought anybody? Well nobody complained when Wlad did it so why complain when stupid Stevenson does it?

 

I'm not a Stevenson fan at all but I know GYM wanted an US fight vs Joe Smith real bad. It could be that Joe decided to wait a bit, time is on his side. I think Joe's handlers want him to build a fanbase in NYC.

 

At least fought twice every two years. Like I said if Stevenson is gunna fight at a lower than world level at least do it often like Wilder does.

 

I think it's a good fight

 

Yeah Brand has held his own against much better operators. Monaghan's record is padded as hell, he's beaten nobody... Is 35 and has struggled with journeyman. Another joke of a fight from Stevenson.

 

Wlad fought top contenders like Pulev, Thompson, Povetkin and Haye. Stevenson fights bums.

 

To be fair there was a time when Stevenson fought top contenders, Dawson, Cloud, Bellew and Fonfara is a very good run but since then his done Jack ****.

Wlads recent fights at HW have been great. Pulev, Jennings, Fury and Joshua at 40 is another amazing run.

 

That's what I'm saying. You can't compare the 2. Maybe the people Wlad fought weren't great, but they were MUCH better than Stevenson's recent opponents.

Also, Dawson was coming off a loss to Ward, and Cloud was tailor made for Stevenson.

 

Gvozdyk's incomplete as a fighter, he better beat Stevenson.

 

What are some flaws in Stevenson's game?

 

I said Wlad not Wilder. But the point is neither Wlad or Adonis were/are willing to fight anybody. Wlad realized he couldn't take a punch and avoided the real threats. I think Adonis realize his chin isn't that good either. Well Sergei does the same thing. He will only fight you if you are old or you can't take a punch.

Not many fighters are willing to take a chance and fight a threat anymore.

 

Doesn't Stevenson HAVE to fight Alvarez (assuming he beats Bute).
He's been mandatory for over a year.
Stevensons next fight was supposed to be filling time until that Montreal fight happened.

 

Wlad is fighting Joshua, and fought Fury, Jennings, Pulev and Povetkin.

I think boxing might be too complicated for you. Maybe you should follow something more your speed, like tic-tac-toe.

 

Wlad has fought 5 top 10 guys in his last 6 fights. All after the age of 37

 

whatever its a decent fight. still hard to believe. its a huge step up in class for monaghan. but there prolly banking on stevenson getting old. so why not take the fight.
