Spence has been silent, in the gym and patiently waiting to fight his mandatory slot for the title. Meanwhile, Brook has been trying to get a fight with Khan, the winner of Canelo/Smith, and a couple other options I've forgotten that never materialized. Now, the clock has come full circle and Brook finalizes the committment to fight his IBF mandatory to give fans the fight they have been waiting for. "And NEW IBF Champion, Erroll Spence"!!!
in theory spence may be right...it might have been only because other stuff fell through...but im just gonna be grateful and give brook/hearn some props...and may the best man win
I was a bit harsh then haha. I just don't see putting a boxer before the sport of boxing. They have people to look after their well being they don't need us to care about them as humans. We just want the best to fight the best every time. No ifs, buts or coconuts.
True, i will give you that. And in my scenario, you never know what could happen. Better to make the fight right now when it´s most convenient. I guess there is no perfect moment. Donaire and Montiel took tune ups two months prior to their own showdown but such instances are rare. Oh well.
Shouldn’t Spence be saying Brook deserves massive credit for taking on a dangerous fighter like himself??… Spence is basically saying that he doesn’t believe that he is any sort of threat so Brook doesn’t deserve credit. Brook got credit for fighting GGG because of the danger he possessed. I think Spence is right.. He isn’t proven so Brook shouldn’t get credit for fighting him.. Brook should only get credit if he fights real top 5 fighters like DSG/Thurman winner or maybe Canelo. Very modest of Spence to accept that he is still an unproven nobody in the WW division
He could have just said "I can't make 147 anymore". He simply tried to make bigger fights. Anybody would do the same.
