sorry, but unlike you i have been on a boxing ring(amateur but i have been), it easy to know who never have fought judging the things he says. bye bye
If that's the case, you should know more than most that one day a man could be bigger and the next he could be smaller.
Everyone knows that. The conversation is about how much it matters if a guy has a bigger or smaller natural frame and how much credit he gets for cutting/adding weight and likewise, for his opponents.
What about frazier and bonavena? http://static.boxrec.com/3/31/Joe_Frazier-1600.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipe...ingoBonavena.jpg/200px-OscarRingoBonavena.jpg http://static.boxrec.com/thumb/0/07/Box_Frazier_Bonavena.jpg/375px-Box_Frazier_Bonavena.jpg https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/85/b2/5e/85b25ea85293109f8bc70280d97c4fbb.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ymo4BkmdsIY/SSU3-pM60JI/AAAAAAAAGKs/Hj1bdaNINJ0/s400/BONAVENA+1.jpg Joe 5'11 1/2 vs oscar 5'10 1/2 203 1/2 lbs vs 205 lbs 73' vs 73' Basically the exact same size by some peoples standards but their frames and build are completely different. Whos really bigger? Or how about mike tyson and james toney at heavyweight? They have the same basic dimensions but toney ballooned up as high as 250 in some fights. Is he bigger than Mike?
the problem here is that i disagree with you about the point " the heavier guy is the bigger guy", my point is that a guy with the bigger frame is naturally the bigger guy of both . (i don't care about the weight) according your theory the fat 230 pounder james toney was bigger than the athletic natural and big framed 212 pounder ali. it is a nonsense
i agree with you but in this case i think that bonavena and frazier were very similar in size of their frames, frazier had pretty big thick legs
In terms of "weight"? yes this is true. but in terms of dimensions, frame, bone structure, height, and muscle/bulk? No. It doesnt matter if a 5'9 man with short arms and legs pigs out at the buffet and ends up weighing 300 lbs he would NOT be "bigger" than Lennox Lewis. Thats nonsense.
But fighters don't get matched according to frame, bone structure, muscle/fat mass, they get matched on weight and weight alone.
In 1999 Salido was bigger than Pacquiao. In 2009 Pacquiao was bigger than Salido. In 1981 Hagler was bigger than Hearns. In 1991 Hearns was bigger than Hagler. Being the bigger man is not something which is fixed in stone.
