Ward isn't the most popular Boxer in the US because he plays the nice guy role, as opposed to the Ali/Mayweather/Broner bad guy roles which are much more effective in putting the Trump voting racists in the seats.
Still, although Ward is the most under-rated American boxer, his popularity is still much better than that of Golovkin whose popularity is bound to his easy path to success by never in his bland career fighting a marque opponent.
