so canelo, who is 26, and has done more than ggg in boxing...should have fought ggg a year ago because he should operate on 35 year old underachievers time frame? lol you are going out of your way to explain to me that HBO overpaid ward...when im well aware it was overpaying...my point is they overpaid because they wanted ward/kovalev.....i completely understand boxing is a business....much more than most people......the point was they overpaid him for the end to justify the means........because kova/ward meant something in the sport of boxing....whether or not it was a commercial success...they knew it meant something....and kovalev was willing to take little money because the fight meant something to him and boxing you arent bright...you think you are...but you arent let me say this once again...day to day, minute to minute, i cant tell whether money/business side of boxing or fighting for respect or challenges is most important to golovkin fans...it changes constantly depending on who the subjects are ....and when ggg fans do talk business in boxing, in regards to ggg, they severly overstate and overestimate his standing in the game and his position in regards to canelo....some of you act as if ggg transcends all precedent
youre probably right about it meaning something,Ward moved up and couldn't make weight at 168,had multiple tune ups as did Kovalev and it absoloutly did mean something. I was on the Canelo should fight GGG thing myself but why did a lot of us think that because Canelo still proved he could make 154 and up to date hasn't had one fight at 160 though I guess the Catchweight of 155 is what made folk think that,I think you're latching on to the money thing as GGG has what two or three fights before Sep and Canelo two,if Jacobs beats GGG Oscar would half the money or in reality wouldn't want the fight anyway cause what's the point in risking a fight with GGG if there's nothing to show for it. I long thought Canelo is GGGs hardest test but until we see how he deals with someone his own size or above we can't know so there's a lot riding on the Chavez fight.
